As a defender whom wanted the bury the opposition on every snap, in practice or the game, nothing infuriated me more than that red "Do not Touch Me" jersey.

In practice I can smack the running back, the receiver, bury the fullback if he dares block me.. but I can't hit that pansy in the red.

If we are dumb enough to hurt him.. then bench us.. but don't give that jackass special treatment.

I truly believe that lead to the nonsense special rules for the QB that we see today. Line up.. play.. take the punishment that you have coming if I beat you.

Shawn, you had red-shirted QBs in high school?! Damn. Our coach was old school. Our QB had a white practice jersey like the rest of us.
