Defense is definitely improved, largely due to guys like Urlacher being healthy, but Peppers is making a pretty hefty impact as well. Schedule's been favorable thus far, and they've definitely benefited from some breaks (e.g. Miami being down to their 3rd string QB for last night's game). Their OL seems to have picked it up, which is something.

I still don't see them keeping this up - they've got some brutal games on the horizon.

Vick is starting to understand is roll as a QB

Quarterbacks have a roll? Can you show me a video of it? I've never heard about the "quarterback roll" before. Sounds like a cool dance move. Does it look kinda like this?

The thing is, since we are on a Packers thread, we must find things to talk about (not trying ot make this sound like a chore). That being said, it is inevitable that some people will complain, and some people will praise. With this in mind, it is imperative that we realize, even through all of the tribulations our team has gone through this year, we are still doing PRETTY DAMNED GOOD. I think that this is something that should keep us afloat when we are nit-picking at our beloved Packers. W-L trumps anything else. I realize that we want the guys to perform well in their wins, but it is ALWAYS better to get a win and play shitty than to play well and lose.

The Pack is on a roll even with a number of injuries, but the bad thing about it is so are a number of other teams without so many injuries in the NFC.

The Eagles have just become a team that you don't want to play. Vick is starting to understand is roll as a QB and is looking like a stud. The defense is jut as good with the schemes and concepts they run.

The Bears, not the greatest team and not the greatest schemes, but they just seem to win.

The Giants, Falcons, Bucs, Saints seem to have things clicking and alll look like potential threats.

The way we are scheming things right now, it has been working out, but when it comes time I think our running game will be exposed. BJ is adequate at best for an NFL RB. I also think any side Matthews is not on will be taken advantage. Zombo and the boys are not the answer. I hope I am wrong, but we will see.

Opinions welcome

Good. I was beginning to think we'd have no competition.

I'd rather beat somebody good than win because the other team sucked and rolled over and played dead.

Vick is on pace for his first MVP. I'm still in shock.

da Bears are still in first. Polargrizz must be in shock.

Time for us to bump up to a higher level.

LOL I love it. I couldn't agree more with the fact that I would rather play a good team than a shitty team. Not to say I didn't enjoy cornholing the Boys in 9, but good competition is what makes the NFL so suspenseful and exciting.

Here's how i look at it at this point in time.
We had a TON of injuries early. I was pretty down, and thought our season was over.
Now, looking back, i see how Ted had built some depth in the team that i didn't even realize was there. The huge amount of injuries, yet the Packers have just kept on chugging along. THEY didn't quit, or give up. We lost the 3 games by 3 points each. Even with all the adversity, we still hung around in all the games.
I'm glad it all hit early in the season, and not at the end. It gives time for the guys to "jell" at the right time, and we didn't fall too far back with the 3 losses where we can't dig out. We win sunday, we are still right behind the Bears, who at the moment hold the tie breaker.
Could we afford to lose Cm3? No, anymore then we could afford to lose Rodgers. At some point, there are players you CAN'T replace with one of equal value.
But you are only allowed 53 men on your roster, and can only pay so much money out. So at some point, injuries CAN become to big to overcome.
But at this point, the Packers have done one hell of a job, and i'm proud that they haven't quit.

We can't afford to lose Aaron, CM3, or Woody. Those are our Holy Trinity of Packers right now.

Kudos to Ted Thompson for fielding a team that is so good that with 11 (? - correct me if I'm wrong) players on IR including several starters, we're still in the SB race.

That's what makes me wonder......all the Ted Thompson haters.
Where are they now?
All the injuries to starters, yet we are not dead yet.
Pretty darn amazing, if you ask me.

T^2 has put himself into the "meh" category for me.

09' draft did it for me, this draft could have bumped him into "good" status
but 2 of our top 3 picks are on IR and Bulaga aint that great at RT (5 QB pressures vs DAL) but hes gettin better.

i will reserve judgment until next year.

Bishhop and Jackson have been upgrades over the starters they replaced. So has Green, arguably. Anyone else think Hawks even looks better with Bishop in there?
The only injured player that we couldn't really replace was Finley, and all that has done is no longer allow Rodgers to try forcing him the ball all the time.
I have no worries about the defense whatsoever. Hell, I'm not even that concerned about the special teams at this point.
I AM still concerned about the offense. Chronic underperformers. But they usually start pulling their heads out of their asses around week 10. Time for that to start happening.

Bishop has been better than Barnett, but I don't know why anyone would think that Jackson has been better than Grant. It seems so obvious to me, and just about everyone else, that the running game suffered greatly when Grant got hurt.

The Finley injury has hurt big time. Maybe Rodgers was forcing the ball to him at times, but that would have improved as the season went on. I think Rodgers can be trusted to play with a great TE.
