UB star running back and Niagara Falls native James Starks was selected in the 6th round of the NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers.Starks missed his senior season at UB after having shoulder surgery just before the season began.Starks posted back-to-back 1000 yard seasons in his sophomore and junior years at UB. He totaled at school record 3,140 yards and 34 touchdowns for his career at UB. He also caught 127 passes during his career with the Bulls.Starks was in good shape this spring for the NFL combine and impressed scouts running a 4.5 40 yard dash.The Packers selected Starks with the 193rd overall pick in the draft.
