Dungy is a useless sack of shit...(hopefully he will excuse my use of profanity)

Except his defense in Minnesota was one of the better defenses in the league at the time. He turned around Tampa and Gruden won a Super Bowl with Dungy's guys.

But whatever. You're the boss.. ::roll:

Moral of the story, leave the Vikings and you'll win a ring.

That explains alot........for Randy Moss, it didn't work the first time, so he decided to try it again! LOL!

Or get promoted within and win a ring. Still waiting for this to happen. Hopefully Frazier is the guy.

Please... By that measurement Caldwell is an equally brilliant coach! Furthermore the Colts were ranked 21st in total defense that year. Manning carried his team to a super bowl and the Bears' inept offense handed them the victory.

BTW why is there such a discrepancy in performance between Dungy's defenses in Tampa and his defenses in Indianapolis?

I was unaware that the Colts played the Bearce all the way through the playoffs AND the Super Bowl. If I remember correctly, they had some injuries throughout the season and come playoff time, that defense took off (was one of the better ranked defenses in that year's playoffs). Dungy obviously didn't have any part in that.

Fact is, Dungy turned around Tampa (they were completely irrelevant before he showed up) and the year after he left they won the Super Bowl. After a few years in Indy, he get's a ring for himself.

Sounds like the resume of a useless sack of shit alright.. ::roll:

ILike - In defense of Favre, have you seen TJ play? He's a very average QB. Mobile, can avoid some sacks, but misses a lot of throws that Favre can practically complete with his eyes closed. And Favre has a sort of magic to him, like against the Niners last year and the very last game they played. Heck, he almost beat us.

TJ doesn't win those games. I'd bet a lot of money on that too.

But long term, you are correct. That's yet another reason I'm glad I'm a Packers fan and not a Vikings fan. They're going to be in some serious pain when the rebuilding starts next year after Favre leaves.

I think this was a desperation move by Chilly. Almost like a lighter version of selling your soul.

I'm one of those odd folks who thinks that if Jackson had 1) some decent coaching and 2) some faith, he could be a very good NFL QB. But there's no way he'll be there past this season, and for his sake I hope he's not. It'll be someone else - a McNabb or a Vick, and they'll either earmark Webb for development or they'll draft some kid. In any case, if they want to have a shot at rebuilding quickly, they'll cut ties with Favre after this season - whether it's his fault or not, his baggage outweighs what he's got to offer a team at this point.

The defense has some younger players that can show - it's not like they'll hit the can when Fat Pat hangs it up. AP has several very productive years ahead of him, as do Rice, Shiancoe and Harvin. If they clean the idiots out and make a couple prudent decisions at QB an OL, they can be back to being a problem for the Packers in a couple seasons, tops. And that's precisely why it's so important to let Brett go after this season - there's a window in which it's possible for them to make a quick, decisive turnaround, but it's not wide.

So naturally, I fervently hope they drag his old hide out again next year, somehow. :thumbright:

It won't be Dungy.

Oh, Minneapolis. Your continued insistence that Tony Dungy is secretly dying to return (yearly as it pertains to the Gophers, this Vikings fantasy is newer) is simultaneously cute and depressing.

He's not coming back here, people. Get over it.

Zero2Cool (3h) : NFL thought it would get more attention week preceding Super Bowl.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Yes, the Pro Bowl. It was played Sunday before Super Bowl from 2010-2022
packerfanoutwest (3h) : pro bowl
Zero2Cool (3h) : From 2010 to 2022, it was played on the Sunday before the Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (3h) : They moved it to the BYE week before Super Bowl several years ago.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : it was always after the SB.....
beast (13h) : Though I stop following pro bowl years ago
beast (13h) : I thought the pro game was before the Super Bowl?
packerfanoutwest (13h) : ok now for the Pro Bowl Game in Hawaii
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : If I was Philly I would try to end it instead of punting it
Mucky Tundra (14h) : VICTORY! We have (moral) victory!
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : Hey they mentioned that we 3-peted
Mucky Tundra (15h) : seems to me the 49ers should have traded Aiyuk when they had the chance
Mucky Tundra (15h) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?
Zero2Cool (15h) : 49ers gonna trade Deebo. Interesting
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : Great throw by Hurts
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Where Carter falls prey to bad off the field influences (to be clear, not saying he'd clip someone though)
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Had Carter not gone to Philly were they already had a lot of old college friends, he ends up in a similar spot to Aaron Hernandez
Mucky Tundra (15h) : I think some of his coaches told scouts to stay away
Mucky Tundra (15h) : the street racing incident+conditioning and motivation problems
beast (15h) : Then Carter was street racing, where the other car crashed and people died... and other teams were scared to pick Carter for some reason
beast (15h) : I think the Saints traded up, giving their next year 1st to the Eagles, and then they sucked and Eagles got the 10th overall pick
packerfanoutwest (15h) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (15h) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (15h) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (15h) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (15h) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (15h) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (15h) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (15h) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (16h) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (16h) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (16h) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (16h) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (16h) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (16h) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (16h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
