Belated happy veteran's day, Soldier!

And to all that serve and have served.

Non (and his family-he can elaborate if he so chooses) , Steve, Wayne's son David...There are more, forgive me for not recalling...

It was put quite well by a poster over at PurplePride...I'll paraphrase-

Remember, at some point, every single veteran knowingly wrote a blank check fully payable to the United States of America that included their own life as potential payment.

I actually prefer this version to SSgt Sadler's original.

We actually sat in the garage last night, watched the deer come in and listen to Tom T Hall and this song that I had put together for him a few years ago.

Fitting way to wind the day down.

Thanks for the post.. +1 and once again Thank you to all Vets. Be Blessed with good health, good times and good friends.

I've had a lot of relatives in the military -- Purple Hearts, flag-draped coffins, the works -- but I think my brother and I are the only ones of our generation to serve. He's currently a DI down at Parris Island. The job suits him well.

I make it a point to thank Vets whenever i see them. Most of the time you can't tell if they are Vets or not. But if they are wearing a hat or shirt that says they are, i go up to them and thank them.
You would be surprised at how many of them have never had anyone do that.
It SHOULD be the norm, not the acception.
Especially Vietnam Vets, who were not treated right when they came home. I have had grown men start crying, and wives that came up to me afterward to thank me for doing so for their husbands.
I think i have gained more out of doing that then they got.
THANK YOU VETERANS!
What you have given has given us the freedoms we have today. We have the right to disagree, to discuss, and all, because of YOUR sacrifices.

I've said this before and I'll say it again - you're a good guy Cheesey.

I was reading about this one blogger once who before a kid was shipped off to the recent wars, he was having dinner with his parents. He overheard that he was being shipped over, called over the waitress and asked to take the tab for them.

I've thought about doing the same. Never did it though. One of these days...

Thank you Zombie.
I wish i had the money to do that. Thinking of the other thread that asked "what would you do if you had unlimited money", what you said would be something i would do......as many times as i could.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.

Martha Careful (25-Jan) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
