I make it a point to thank Vets whenever i see them. Most of the time you can't tell if they are Vets or not. But if they are wearing a hat or shirt that says they are, i go up to them and thank them.
You would be surprised at how many of them have never had anyone do that.
It SHOULD be the norm, not the acception.
Especially Vietnam Vets, who were not treated right when they came home. I have had grown men start crying, and wives that came up to me afterward to thank me for doing so for their husbands.
I think i have gained more out of doing that then they got.
