Ok, so in the arguably likely/unlikely instance of Childress being canned sometime this season/off-season, what HC would you kids NOT want to see as the Vikings head coach?

I know there are MANY fans that would love if Cowher took over, Gruden (Chuckie) is another guy I've heard rumored.

I wouldn't be upset with Gruden, but would LOVE Cowher. Also would like to see Frazier get the job and be the next Dungy.

What says the division rivals? Who scares you most?

Honestly, your DC should be promoted to HC and he should let someone else run the O. As for right now, Favre should be calling the plays instead of Chilly. He'd do a lot more damage to opponents than Chilly would. P Manning calls the plays in Indy and Favre's got more experience than Manning does (with all due respect to Manning, Favre's got like 7 years on him).

Gruden would cause the most fear but your team needs to be rebuilt. Your OL sucks. Your DL is getting old. Your DBs are injured. Next year might be frightening to be a Vikings fan. It may take a few years to rebuild, even with an elite HC like Gruden.

The vikes will probably be stupid enough to let L. Frazier go and hire Capers as their new HC. 🙂

Frasier. I do not want to see Leslie become the leader of that franchise. I think he could get a team to play together and at a high level.

Chuckie I would love to see take over the franchise.... his style creates quick and rapid player burn out. I would like that hire from an opposition standpoint.

I would say Frazier just for the fact he already knows what he has in his players, and I don't think he would be afraid to grab the bull by the horns and get rid of some of the older players. I think the players would respect him unlike they do with Chilly.

Zombie brought up a scary thought, if Chilly actually just turned around and let Favre run a so called hurry up offense like the Colts do. When Rice comes back in a few weeks that would be scary with them running 3 wrs on all downs and not let defense change up its players or packages. AP would love it also I believe because he would be running against alot of nickel defenses.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Mike Sherman - then Favre can continue his offseasons without accountability.

Yes good point. Favre is really good at finding mismatches and exploiting them. It will help AP too as you mentioned as he'd be facing less people between the hash marks.

Unlike a lot of people here, I like strong competition. I'd rather knock off a strong Vikings team than a weak one. I'm looking forward to Rice coming back.

I strongly believe a title should be earned, not just given out. As is right now, we're going to get it because the other teams suck. That's not a challenge.

I use to the Frazier but some reason that D doesn't seem to play the same for him this year. If Brett was a few years younger I thoink Gruden would of been a great coach for him. Young and passionate but doesn't take shit

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
