You'd think McCarthy has spotted Rodgers flaws on the film, or at least QB Coach Tom Clements has and made McCarthy aware of it. Yet, it continues to consistently occur.

Whether or not he's a "proven franchise QB" is a matter of opinion, because there's nothing close to a clear definition of the term. I happen to think that he is. I would say that Brady, Manning, and Brees are still the class of the league, but Rodgers is in the second tier, along with Roethlisberger, Rivers, and Romo. I am not yet ready to demote Rodgers based on his shaky first half of the season.

I haven't given up on Rodgers because I have a theory on what has happened. With all the MVP hype, Rodgers was "rattled" in the season opener and allowed some bad habits to return. McCarthy's inability or unwillingness to address these problems immediately, has caused these problems to consistently reappear throughout the season. Without a viable running game or OL Rodgers has put even more pressure on himself, further perpetuating this cycle.

I think Rodgers will be a future Hall of Famer and a primer franchise QB of the league, however he shouldn't be given that status as of yet.

If Rodgers isn't injured, why is he so careful not to plant his feet? I don't think we can say that it is primarily because he's afraid to get sacked. If that were the case, he could simply step up in the pocket -- or even roll out. But he's not doing that. He's not planting his feet when he throws or when he runs; indeed, he runs about the field high-stepping like a pony. Something is clearly amiss, but for whatever reason attention isn't being drawn to it. Maybe the staff doesn't want to make Rodgers more of a target than he already is in this pass-happy offense. Maybe Rodgers is simply toughing it out and hasn't admitted he is in pain. It's impossible to know. But he certainly looks injured to me.

Boy he really sucks. Over 2000 yards in 8 games is horrible. 5-3 is atrocious, they should bench him and fire MM.

If his worst year is an 85 rating, he will be a lot better than Favre. Who's average is 85 and his worst is 71. That is not because of a "different era". It was only '05 and '06 when he had his worst.

For the record, Aaron won me over after his game against the Panthers in his first season starting. He brought his team back into the game in the second half after a terrible team performance in the first. He almost got his team a win single handed in a game they had no business even having a shot to win... I think the dude is a real franchise QB.

Yes, Favre had three excellent years. But even in his pinnacle moment -- the Super Bowl victory -- he did not play nearly the role his rabid fans think he did. Watch the game again; the complete video is readily available on Youtube. You will see he did essentially nothing after the second quarter; he was kept carefully in check (and wisely so) by his head coach. The only points the Packers scored in the second half were on a 99-yard return for a TD by Desmond Howard. Even on Favre's touchdown pass, credit for most of that score has to go to Rison, not to Favre.

Even in his prime, there were quite a few times the Packers won in spite of Favre, not because of him.

Yes, he sucked in the playoffs, even then, but that shouldn't be much of a surprise. What point are you exactly trying to make?

If you are correct, it certainly could explain some of his problems, though. I'll try and watch him more closely in tonight's game, to see how he's walking. What makes it harder is that it seems like a lot of QBs have sort of an unathletic way of walking, compared to the other players.
