To be fair to Nick B, the NFC is full of elite MLBs. Hard to get a Pro Bowl here.

I've been pretty critical of the Pack, and I have no problem with Hawk. Yes, he's no Neon Light, but he's solid as fuck, and we'd miss him if he were gone. He's one of those guys who does his job well and doesn't get credit because he isn't doing pic-6's and all that. But because he does his job other guys like Woodson shine.

Yes. he was an overall high pick, and no he hasn't kept up with 1 thru 4 from that year, but god damn it he's consistent. That's worth its weight in gold to a coach, to know what he's dealing with.

5th pick in that draft class I don't think was all that horrible for what the Packers have gotten in return for AJ Hawk during his service. If we stick to just linebackers in that draft, we can compare Hawk to Ernie Sims, Chad Greenway, Bobby Carpenter, Manny Lawson who were the rest taken in the first round. I still feel good about that pick for what I believe Hawk brings to the defense. Sure there are other big names in that draft at different positions like Ngata, Santonio Holmes, DeAngelo Williams, Nick Mangold, Joseph Addai from that year, but are

Mario Williams, has he been the next Reggie White?
Reggie Bush, has he really been what anyone expected out of college? His expectation levels were finally lowered by critics and now he is a star.
Vince Young, that's still a work in progress and that team has had greater success without him
D'Brickashaw Ferguson, he has played as well as everyone expected.
