I don't know if it was spontaneous or not -- Favre is an expert showman with a carefully crafted public persona -- but it's one of my all-time favorite Packers highlights.

The Favre celebration was cool because it looked like it was spontaneous, and it probably was. (A few years ago, I would not have even questioned this, but I don't trust Favre anymore.)

I will start off by saying sorry to some of you, but don't ever question my fanhood until you actually know me or have to live in another town (such as being in Steeler country) and have to put up with BS all the time. I wear my Green and Gold with pride and I get shit for it. But I am old enough to know that some times things are not right and I point them out.

The guy asked a simple question and I tried to answer it for him and right away people jumped on me saying I'm not a Packer fan. To those I still say FUCK OFF, but to others that read it I apologize.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Removing Helmets on the Field During Play -- no player may remove his helmet while on the playing field. Doing so will result in a 15-yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty. Exceptions are during timeouts and between quarters. (The NFL has done this in an effort to "reduce taunting and overexuberant celebrations" and also "in the name of safety.

I'm just saying it was obvious and should have been 15 yds. You stoop to calling me names because I answered the guys question so be it

Little side note NFL says that the ref was wrong by overturning the vikes td.

What gets me is you point out mistakes by the officials that would hurt the Packers if not called as such. However, when calls are mentioned that didn't go in the Packers favor, that should have, you claim 'excuses'. So yes, I am going to give you a helluva hard time, deal with it. It's like you care more about appealing to the opponents fans, than fans of the same team you root for. I think that's cowardly and weak.

Every game has calls that go our way, and their way, it's just how it goes. Point out both or none at all is my feeling on the matter. What bothers me most is the inconsistency in what is called. It makes it hard to say that was a penalty or that wasn't a penalty.

Fact is, we've been on the wrong end of a lot of calls that the officials the next day admitted to getting it wrong. You don't pay attention to those when pointing out bad calls, yet you're a Packers fan. Puzzling.

Here is what Mike Pereira said about it, he used to be the head NFL rules official I believe.

"Mike Pereira:

Matthews' helmet started to come off when he was blocked, and then he pushed it off the rest of the way so he could see. Interesting enough, it's not a foul, period. It's only a foul if a player removes his helmet to celebrate or to argue with an official or in a confrontation with another player. Therefore, during the play there is no restriction for removing the helmet.

You'll like my answer on this in the Mailbag, which will come later today.

If I had good hair like that, I might remove my helmet, too."

so much for that being a "gift" I guess.

Packers are like many teams in the NFL, they have flaws, they have injuries, they get calls, they don't some calls, its how things go. It's why you shouldn't get too bent out of shape one way or the other in my opinion. What goes around, comes around.

Packers are a good team that has that dreaded word, potential. we're coming up to the half way point in the season. I'm really interested in how we handle games 9-12 and I think that'll tell us a lot bout our team going forward.

I have no argument with you Zero. I was just rationalizing hazer's attitude.
In my "Coach" metaphor, when he is focused on his team's execution, the coach doesn't care about how many calls/breaks the other team got. He is looking to fix the things his team did wrong.
I was probably being too tolerant of hazer's antics.

Yes, I think you were. There are other people here who are perfectionists, and although I often disagree with them, there's never any doubt about which team they are sticking up for. Dhazer is consistently critical of Aaron Rodgers (last week he referred to Rodgers as "a whiny bitch" for complaining about non-calls), he sometimes refers to our coach as Fred Flinstone, and of course there is his avatar, which is a caveman bashing Ted Thompson's head against a rock. If I hated Thompson and McCarthy that much I would probably want the Packers to lose so they would be fired and maybe take the "whiny bitch" with them when they left.

I see the Green Bay Packers, as the Green Bay Packers, not a egomanic GM or fat HC.

I root for the Packers, not the GM, not the HC.

Seeing this is way off topic and you got your idiots that think they know me, we will continue with them. First off Greg and Steve you want to question my fan hood, well lets see you sit in the middle of steeler country and wear your Packer gear and have decals all over your vehicle including a Packer pissing on the Steelers. I know Greg you must have it real tough up there in the UP fighting with the rough Lion fans.

Now lets touch on a few things Greg said, do I hate Ted Thompson hell ya and I have from day 1, I never once waivered from that. Do I think we can win a super bowl with Freddy Flintstone (and the credit for that name goes to DFoster) and TT, thats a big fat Hell NO. Now about calling Rodgers a whiny bitch, it's because he has. His first 2 years of him starting and you never really saw him do those things, but after being an All Pro and the medias preseason MVP he has changed. I believe he listened to all the hype and it is hurting his game. He sure the hell isn't playing like he did the last 2 years. Also you bring up my avatar, well buddy if you don't like it then bitch at PackZ because he made it and him and Zero put it on there without me knowing and I just left it.

So once again you don't like how I show my fan hood them just ignore my posts and if you don't know how ask LTF he did it many times.

EDIT: and if you don't think they don't change things look at the bottom of my posts, congrats DFoster.

But by the rules that should have been a 15 yd flag, I wonder if this will be explained why it wasn't. He took it off not like someone else did it. Just another thanks to the refs 🙂 I am sure our o-line was mugging the Vikes also but of course noone will admit to that.

To me we got a gift from the refs and that was that.

Good for you for wearing Packer gear, but why is that such a big deal in Steeler country? I've always thought that Packer fans and Steeler fans respected each other, for the most part.
