I care. I certainly won't jump off a bridge if they lose, and without a doubt my main priority is that they not incur any more injuries, but it would be badass as hell if they could man up and steal a game like this on the road.

The players and coaches need to be taking the attitude that every game is a must win.

But as a fan I'm just looking at the NFC North. The objective is to get to the playoffs. Once you're there you have a shot and it's bit of a crapshoot. A couple of good/lucky games and you can be in the SB.

Right now, as long as we out perform the Vikings and the Bears we're guaranteed a playoff spot.

If the Bears continue to implode and the Vikings SB train comes off the rails then I'm not overly fussed about the regular season record as a whole.

It sure would be nice to wrap up a playoff berth early though and rest a few of our backups (the starters are already on IR).

The only way I would be extremly disappointed would be if somehow the Vikings beat the Pats on the road and we lost. Then that would upset me but that would more directed at the Vikings win, than our loss.

I agree with the earlier post someone wrote, it'd be a big win more than it would be a big loss.

This is the best team on the schedule. You bet your ass I care about this game, and I'm pulling for a win.

Jets are the 3rd or 4th best team in the AFC and the 3rd or 4th best team in the NFL. (There are no NFC teams in the top 4). They were my preseason favorites to win the AFC and represent them in the SB. They do have the team and the motivation to upset the #1 seed in the AFC CG. Not saying they will do it. I'm just saying they can. Don't be surprised if they're in the SB.

I'm not expecting a win. However, if we win this game, I'll be shocked and elated and will probably celebrate by buying Mrs. Z a real nice dress.

We face 2 elite teams this year - the Jets and the Patriots. I want to see how we measure up.

I'm actually rather optimistic about this game. I think if the Packers can put Sanchez on his back a few times this week, they could improve their turnover ratio. Finland is correct when he points out that the Jets do not commit turnovers, and Sanchez has been incredibly efficient throwing touchdowns this year. I think the Packers have to be disruptive if they want to win this game. If they settle for shutting down the run, I think Sanchez will light them up through the air. I don't believe the Packers will be able to completely squelch the Jets' rushing attack, so I'd rather see them put the fear of God in Sanchez instead.

Alternatively, just light up the skies with a precision aerial attack and force Sanchez to play catchup. I'm not convinced he can do that.

I'm not confident that we can put Sanchez on his back. We have lots of injuries, so even with Matthews we couldn't get any consistent pressure on the Vikings' porous line. And the Jets have one of the best blocking lines in the league. Slauson is their only weak link, and I say if we are going to get to Sanchez, it's gonna have to be through that guy.

If we have Jenkins and Pickett we are in good shape. We might even have Harris and /or Bigby back. I think we can move the ball on anyone if we aren't beating ourselves.

Our Oline killed the best Dline in football last weekend. The Jets will bring blitzes so it's just going to be a matter of getting the ball out to the open guy. The Vikings went wild on them in the 2nd half and if not for some wide open misses by favre I think the Vikings would have beat them.

I'm not really scored about them running up the score on us. If we can keep the run at bay I think we win.

agreed. Raji will get pressure up the middle too. There's a big difference in this team when our entire line is healthy.

Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
