I don't know, for some reason, I don't really care about the Jets game in terms of "I'm stressed out, we have to win".

Really tough team on the road, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we lost or be heartbroken. In the end, its an AFC game and will mean very little in the end.

Sure, I'd love to win. That's why I'm handling it like a "bonus" game. If we win, our season is made and we're one of the top teams in the NFC or even NFL. If we lose, oh well, tough team on the road and an AFC game.

It certainly won't be the end of the world if we lose, 4-4, as long as we win NFC games and especially NFC North games, this Jets game will mean very little. Regardless, our playoff story is defined by the NFC games.

I actually feel the opposite. Granted, we are 1 game out of the best record in the NFC right now, but I still think we can ill-afford losses at this point with key games vs. the Vikes, Giants, Falcons, and Patriots still on the horizon.

This game makes me nervous too because I think the team got so hyped up for the vikings (justifiably so), and I fear a let down game.

I am more worried at this point of continuing to improve both in terms of execution and if not more importantly.. health.

I hold little doubt at this point of the season that the Jets are a better overall team than the Packers. But we are starting to come on.. a couple straight weeks of better execution, play calling and guys stepping up in the place of the wounded.

I hope we play well, give ourselves a chance to win, and maybe pull it out. I think if would do a world of good for the confidence of this team..

For me it's not so much the mindset that we have to win this and we have to play well and have to have to have to. Maybe this will piss some people off but I guess I'm resigned to the fact that we won't win this one. You said some of the reasons. Let down after the Vikings game. Tough team (maybe the best in the league) on the road. Jets are coming off their bye. We have no d-linemen... I'll be doing backflips if we win but I just don't think we will.

I don't think we're either healthy or good enough this year to win this or many other games. Any more W's this year will be considered pleasant surprises.

*shrugs*

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

For one, the Jets are overrated. What I fear is LT. Our Dline is VERY banged up. LT could scorch us. But then, Apete did too and we still won.
Our D is VERY capable of getting turnovers.
As far as I'm concerned, if we win, that's great. What I am looking for is that the team SHOWS UP. I want them to play for 60 minutes and show what they've got. If they throw their jocks out of the field and "lose ugly," then I will know that they have regressed and that the Queens game meant nothing. If they show up and play up to their abilities, then win lose or draw, I will be satisfied. Because that means they've turned things around. That's what I want to see.

I said in another thread that this would have been a great week for a bye and not great to get the Jets on the road after their bye.

On paper the only way to win this game is to rattle Dirty Sanchez, and force turnovers. But I didn't think we were going to beat the Vikings either.
