goal line D, due to the fact that we are riddled with that many injuries?

Is there no one out there?

I've never heard of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens occasionally with other teams. Goal line defense is about bulk and strength and leverage. The interior linemen seldom make the tackle. I have to agree, though, that it is kind of pathetic that we have been reduced to using an O-lineman in those situations.

That's what happens when you're without 3 of your top 4 linemen (Pickett, Jenkins, Neal) with one of them on the active roster. Had Jenkins not gotten hurt during warmups, we would have kept him on the inactive list and brought Monty in.

I don't think so, but it's not unusual.

If all our linebackers got injured, I wouldn't be surprised to see Korey Hall play defense.

Mike Vrabel used to play TE on the goal line all the time. Who remembers William Perry?

But yeah it's not like we do it just to be different. Injuries has forced us to do this.

Lions did as much last year. Against us, even.

When you have problems with injuries you just have to move some pieces around. Guys on the d-line get gassed rather quick. They seem to get injured a bit more than O-linemen, as well.

They get mugged by fat nasty o-linemen and have RBs diving at their knees all game. That's why they get injured, so much.

you know even given all our injuries - Im glad we are not the saints this year; boy do they dissappoint.

Least we got a reason (injuries)

I mean even with just finley and grant out thats a big ouch to our team and then you throw in all the other players ...

I wouldn't mind being the Saints, they're defending World Champions.

Does anyone else feel like we are playing with house money right now?

With all our injuries, our season should be over. I feel like we have been counted out, and aren't considered contenders based on our injuries. It helps us play relaxed, because the expectations our now lower.

And also, it hard to complain about injuries when we still have a healthy QB. Look at Dallas, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Detroit, and Arizona. It's a lot easier to recover from injuries when they are not at the QB position.
