predicting us to finish????

We have alot of work to do.

Every team has injuries and Ted Thompson has built this team from HIS draft, so we should be okay according to him. I am not so sure about that.

What happens if we take a loss tonight against the Queens??

Do the wheels come off the bus????

The Every team has injuries saying is mostly BS. Injuries are a huge factor. If anybody thinks this team would be in the same position without them, they really are foolish. Yes, we want our team to overcome them, but at some point, unless you know of a team with 53 starters, injuires do take their toll.

By my count, the team has 9 players (8 if you discount Jolly) on IR/out for the season. That number doesn't even include the injuries to D. Lee, Bigby, Matthews, Cullen's limitations with his wrist and on and on.

Preseason predictions don't forsee injuries to Sydney Rice, Dallas Clark, or drama with Albert Haynesworth.

The problem with the injuries excuse is that most are on D, which has performed well enough to win each week. The O hasn't suffered nearly the same number of significant injuries and it's performing terribly.

We do have 2 glaring injuries on offense. Those are obviously Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley. I do believe that Grant being out has affected us negatively, there's no way around that, but I also believe that Finely being out has affected us both negatively and positively. HEAR ME OUT! Finley is a stud and a workhorse, and we certainly do miss his talent, but when we watched the first few games of the season, what did Rodgers do every time he dropped back? He looked for Finley. He also made BAD throws because "Finley redefines 'Being open.'" Well, every time that he is looking for Finley, he is missing somebody else. Now that Finley is out, he is scanning the field MUCH better and it finding the best person to throw the ball to instead of throwing it toward 88 and hoping he makes a play.

I think Mike McCarthy job is on the line. If we lose this game because of penalties, poor special teams, and inability to run the football, its time to look at Mike McCarthy approach to the game. His play calling, the talent level, his coaching staff.

Its not just one game, but the final product and the performance on the field after five seasons. Losing to the Bears and Vikes in the first half of the season would spell the end for Mike McCarthy IMO.

I agree peterlan, and I think I may have commented on that observation after the 'fins games. For a little bit in the 1st half, I actually thought the offense was performing more efficiently w/o Finley, but then came our predictable 2nd half demise.

I more or less agree w/ TOPF, though. With the exception of rb depth (Ted issue) the packers haven't had any offensive issues that you can attribute to injuries. The tackles have been awful, and the wrs aren't getting open and are dropping balls, and aaron has been inconsistent.

One thing I'll give him credit for, however, is that he's never used injuries as a scapegoat this weekend. He hardly even discusses who is injured in his press conferences, choosing to focus on other topics.

Yes I completely agree, I just wanted to point out the overlooked offensive injuries. Like I had said a few weeks back, I think that our defense should get the game ball because they are so insanely battered up but they still have been playing very well. Our offense has let us down, and that, for the most part, is not due to the injuries.

You're right, the defense has done fairly well, all things considered.

However, I feel that if the packers' offense were clicking, then we'd be seeing more shootouts this year that would expose our defensive weaknesses (just like vs. Pitt and AZ last year). It is a mystery to me that Miami didn't put up 35 points on us last week...they were gashing us with the run, and we couldn't cover marshall to save our lives. I actually felt that the 'fins played down to us a little bit.
