Veteran corner to sign one-year deal

Former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Frank Walker is taking a physical today with the Minnesota Vikings and is expected to sign a one-year contract, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

The Vikings have had injury issues at cornerback with rookie Chris Cook suffering a knee injury recently.

Walker tried out for the New Orleans Saints Tuesday, but wasn't signed to a contract.

The Tennessee Titans tried out Walker earlier this season.

Walker was with the Ravens for the past couple seasons, but wasn't retained as a free agent this offseason.

Walker, who has had previous stints with the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants, tried out for the Miami Dolphins during the preseason and the Houston Texans this spring.

Yes Alan, they are. The Vikes only have 3 healthy CBs. THREE! I don't recall anything about this guy, so it's REALLY obvious that the Vikes are hurting.

Here's to hoping that rookie Cook can get back and stay healthy..

The only reason this signing is notable at all is that Frank Walker represents yet another Packers retread. The Vikings love them some Packers.

Rourke, meh. He's also a Ravens and Giants rethread. He's played more in Baltimore and NY than he had in GB. I think he had 3 years in NY and 2 in Baltimore. Only one year in GB. Can't really call him a Packers retread. 🙂
