You know what Packer98, I will take you up on your offer for help in directing me to a website that lists the rookies that have been injured since 2006.

Please, just direct me to that website and I will take time out of my schedule to compile a list of injuries the Packers have had and compare them to other teams to see which team has had more rookies suffer injuries.

As a matter of fact, if you would like me to make a specific comparison between the Packers and another team, let me know and I will do it.

Again, I await your link to a website...

Let me help you, first start with either nfl.com or espn.com and do a little work yourself.

Um, okay you actually assume that I spent any time researching it - I did not. I frankly thought that you could give me a more pointed website specifically to that issue.

But need not worry, I actually have a very good idea of where I can find such information. I'll start with a comparison between the Colts and the Packers. 🙂

Yeah, Justin Harrell had a biceps injury, but guess what. Adrian Peterson had a shoulder injury coming out of college.

It's just bad luck. You can't blame Thompson for injuries, unless you are completely retarded.

Colts 2006 Draft:

1. Joseph Addai: Suffers separate injuries to his wrist and ankle sprain during his rookie year (http://www.kffl.com/player/13409/nfl/news)

2. Tim Jennings: has ankle surgery two weeks after Colts rookie minicamp concludes
(http://www.kffl.com/player/13733/nfl/news)

3. Freddy Keiaho: suffers knee injury in Training camp, misses first 2 regular season games (http://www.kffl.com/player/14428/nfl/news)

4. Michael Toudouze: No injuries reported on him, but cut after Training Camp.

5. Charlie Johnson: Injuries to his foot and ankle, latter cause him to miss time from practices. (http://www.kffl.com/player/14580/nfl/news)

6. Antoine Bethea: injuries knee first week of Training Camp, misses practices and first pre-season game (http://www.kffl.com/player/13861/nfl/news)

7. T. J. Rushing: Injures groin first week of Training Camp and misses practices, later injures leg and misses pre-season game. Cut end of training camp, suspected lost time cost him chance at roster spot. (http://www.kffl.com/player/14243/nfl/news)

Packers 2006 Draft:

1. A. J. Hawk: No injuries reported on him. Wins starting spot.

2. Daryn Colledge: No injuries reported on him.

3. Greg Jennings: Injures groin during training camp, misses one practice in total as result. Injures hip later in season, but does not miss any time as a result (in fact, despite injury he become #2 WR ahead of Robert Fergueson)

4. Jason Spitz: Injuries thigh early in season, misses practices and two games (http://www.kffl.com/player/13998/nfl/news)

5. Abdul Hodge: Injures knee week 5, misses some practices for 2 weeks, returns to practices but is not on active-45 man roster rest of the year. (http://www.kffl.com/player/13473/nfl/news)

6. Cory Rodgers: No reported injuries on him. Struggles as a returner however, which is surprising. Cut at end of training camp.

7. Will Blackmon: breaks foot at end of minicamp, misses training camp and good chunk of regular season games. Ted later admits he was wrong not to put Blackmon on PUP list. (http://www.kffl.com/player/13759/nfl/news)

8. Ingle Martin: No reported injuries, is third-QB.

9. Tony Moll: No reported injuries.

10. Johnny Jolly: injures ankle and initially feared he would need surgery. However, misses a handful of practices throughout the year but still available for the games since surgery was not needed. (http://www.kffl.com/player/13935/nfl/news)

11. Tyrone Culver: No reported injuries.

12. Dave Tollefson: injures ribs during pre-season, misses a handful of practices throughout training camp but no games. Later cut. (http://www.kffl.com/player/14666/nfl/news)

Just one year comparison to test it out - by the way KFFL (or any good fantasy site) will have this information archived. ESPN and NFL do not - or at least not in a easily accessible manner. Really, I am not sure why you mentioned generic ESPN and NFL sites... no real worth are either of them for this task.

Seeing as you are "in the know" then would you mind sharing with me if you used some point system to see which teams' rookies were more brittle.

Because on the surface, despite having almost double the draft class, the Packers had 6 times more the number of healthy rookies than the Colts had. In other words, the Packers had 6 healthy rookies compared to the Colts 1.

Now, if you have any ounce of critical thinking available to you, you will see the issue with comparing the Colts and the Packers going forward (clue: draft class size). So, either you provide us with your standard of classifying Ted's picks as brittle (which I will use as a standard metric to scale all draft picks of the Colts and Packers) or you realize that comparing the Packers to other teams cannot be done with all things being equal because the Packers are extremely draft-oriented and thus we (that is to say, you) need to provide a method of taking that factor into consideration.

(Edit - I assume you understand how fickle causality can be, which ultimately makes this exercise all the more pointless, really)

Compare and assess through excel and maybe you will understand.

There is such a thing of assessing injuries prior to, ie. Harrell and Starks to name 2. So how have they helped the packers this season?

Yes, you can blame Ted Thompson for some of the injuries. You seem to only like to list Harrell

I only like to list Harrell because he is the only one.

Starks is in his first year, which makes it too early to see if he is injury prone. What if he goes on to be a great NFL RB that rarely misses games? You just can't tell what he will be yet.

Also, a good reason AADP compared our list to the Colts' list is because Bill Polian really builds his teams the same way Ted Thompson does...through the draft.

Good comparison there.

So to compare relatively same class sizes is a point, but not the point. Ted Thompson loves the draft and the draft only. He will draft guys with injury issues, when he does not have too. Lee, Williams, Harrell to name a few.

You seem to only be viewing training camp, why? I said prior injuries.

Woah.

You are opening a whole other can of worms by saying guys with prior injury issues.

Firstly, define "issues" because outside of Harrell there is no one on the roster with injury issues.

Lee played in 48 games in college, and started 22 of them (he became a starter late into his second final year). I cannot find any potential concern about him.

Williams... who are we talking about? Tramon? Because you know, he was NOT drafted but rather a free agent signing (not an undrafted signing either).

Harrell had his concerns, because he missed games almost every year in college while having injuries. Harrell had injury issues...but if that is your definition of issues then no drafted player from the last few years even comes close.

How about this, you seem to be in the know so pick two other players besides Harrell, and point out the games they missed or what prior injury was a concern when they came out and got drafted.

You know, before you say you listed some players earlier in the thread, let me remind you that you claimed it was a list of injuries to draftees or signees hurt in their first year with the Packers.

He is going to say Starks. But that is the only one he can say.

Also, if he wants to go by logic of not drafting players with an injury, I could bring up Adrian Peterson. He had a shoulder injury, which is part of the reason he dropped to pick 7 to the Vikings.

Also, Sam Bradford had the shoulder.

So you have to take chances on big time players. I can see why Harrell was picked, because he was good when healthy in college.
