I'm not sure that our O-line is any better than it was in the first half of last season. If they are, it's not by much. Losing Ryan Grant has been part of the problem. But mainly what I'm seeing is too much pressure off the edges on pass plays. It's mostly about the tackles. Frankly, I wasn't impressed with Bryan Bulaga against the Redskins, although there is reason to think that he will improve. Clifton and Tauscher, on the other hand, both look to be in steady decline.

I think the biggest single difference in this game was the difference in pass rush after halftime. Ours was so-so--theirs was outstanding. And this is becoming a pattern.

Our offensive line is just as terrible as it was last year. The only difference is Rodgers' faster release, which in turn leads to more interceptions.

If I were Rodgers, I'd be tempted to take it as a personal insult that this atrocious line hasn't been significantly shored up in three years. I'd give it at most one more season before I started agitating for a trade to a team that showed some serious interest in protecting me.

This team has a tremendous amount of talent at the quarterback position. I'd like to see them stop taking it for granted and take some serious steps to protect it. If Rodgers goes down with a career-ending injury ala Majkowski, I will never forgive this organization for their negligence and stubbornness.

Rodgers has no right to agitate for a trade as long as he continues turning his ass around 180 degree's when the rush is coming. That is stupid and asking for an injury.

A quarterback is responsible for reading the blitz, hitting the hot read. Why should Rodgers be given a free pass on his responsibilities?

Sacks, pressures, hits, etc are not solely the fault of the OL. The QB has a large responsibility in there that should not be over looked.

The Colts and the Pats every single year have either an elite or near elite OL. Their management has the understanding that their QB is their greatest asset.

For the average middle class family, your home is your greatest asset. That is why you insure your house. Well, the management of the Colts and the Pats both get this. They insure their greatest asset by making sure every single year their OL is elite or near elite.

I was reading Foster's rant from last week about how important the trenches are and giving it some thought. Let's not forget that the Patriots won 3 SBs with mediocre WRs, a solid D, an elite OL, and an elite QB.

We still got a lot of games to play in this season, but starting next season, our #1 priority needs to be putting insurance on our #1 asset - Aaron Rodgers.

You can knock Rodgers all you want for running scared. You can brag all you want about your [strike]penis size[/strike] masculinity and how he needs to stay in the pocket. Whatever. I've seen enough QBs have career ending injuries by being tough. I'd prefer to have Aaron on his feet and not on the ground. That gives us our best chance of continually winning.

i would rate the oline about 1/2 way between 1st 1/2 last year and 2nd 1/2. last year.

Cliftong really pissed me off when he redirected Orakpo around the corner then stood with a stupid look on his face as he sacked Rodgers. Granted the ball should have been gone but you play to the whistle bonehead.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

It is hard to be successful as a QB when you are getting little help from the OL. Expecting him to do everything himself is like expecting results from a general without his army. I agree that we need a good OL before we can expect Rodgers to show his potential. When you cannot trust your line to give you the time your QB and WRs need to make their plays- well how confident can you be?

Also, how can we expect to have a consistant running game with a bad OL? RBs need help from the line to get yardage - so you can't blame Jackson without factoring in the line as well.

The Colts do not have an elite OL every year or even near that. Where the heckzilla is that coming from? Peyton is excellent at reading blitzes and getting rid of the ball.

omFg you made me compliment Manning in a public setting. Eat poop, rot of nut poisoning.

If you get sacked in less than 3 seconds there's not a whole lot you can do outside of deciding who your target is before the snap (which he has done this season quite a few times).

On the QB/OL topic, why don't we run more routes that develop quickly? what happened to the quick slant? Or how about something that negates a pass rush such as a screen pass? BJack in the flat can read and deliver. I think our OL guys are small and fast enough to do this, why have we given it up?
