I don't get how a play can be considered aborted when the guy holding the football had not given up on it. Sure it may be kind of a cheap sack but I don't think there is a separate stat for that. The fact is clay stopped a play from happening

I still wonder, if Donovan throws a TD, does it get called back because the play was aborted? I didn't hear whistle until after Clay dropped the QB.
