But Q played well. Not the best blocker, but the guy had talent coming out of PSU. Just fell out a favor with JoePa due to bonehead decision, but has talent.

Quarless looks very agile out there, and he seems to have pretty good hands for a TE. I was impressed with him.

The non-TD was mostly a good play by the defender, although if the pass rush had not been on Rodgers so quickly Quarless may have had time to get some space between him and the defender, or Rodgers could have at least lofted it up into the corner of the end zone where Quarless might have had a chance to come down with it.

Quarless looks sharp, especially for a raw rookie.

I was impressed with how much faith Rodgers appeared to have in him, as well. He was getting the ball in some pretty big time situations. That's a lot of pressure for a 3-4th string player coming off the bench.

If Quarless develops to anywhere near the play maker that Finley is, does anyone actually think we will be keeping both of them? Seems to me that one might go once their contract expires, especially with the paycheck Finley is going to get.

It would be DUMB AS HELL to even CONSIDER letting Finley walk....he is going to be the best TE in the league, and I don't see Ted Thompson doing it because he drafted him.

You can never have enough play makers, so why would you even get rid of Quarless?

I'm not saying it's going to happen nor am I saying it makes sense. But if Quarless becomes a good to great TE himself, I'm just not sure both of them will stick around past their contract. It might not be Finley. Perhaps it's Quarless who doesn't get the new contract from us?

It's a completely hypothetical situation I'm presenting, but still interesting. I just have a hard time believing we would have two potentially "star" TE's on our roster past their rookie contract. Of course, if Quarless doesn't develop like it looks like he can then this will never be a problem!

If Quarless continues. I think he looks better than Finley did a this stage. And somebody lets either go. they should be canned. Finley has improved his blocking where he can be an any situation TE. Get the same from Quarless and combo would be impossible to defend.

Yeah, if Quarless continues to develop of course it would be nice to keep him. I just wonder if money will be an issue. I imagine a cap will be back in the next couple of years. Maybe we could heavily front load Finley's contract and be able to handle Quarless if and when he is ready for an extension?

My main point is we're going to have to give out a lot of money and some players are going to have to go. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I would trade away either of our tight ends in a heartbeat for an offensive lineman who could make Aaron Rodgers feel comfortable behind the line of scrimmage.

I just don't see why people are saying trade Finley, when it's obvious he is our best threat (other than Rodgers, of course) on offense.

I wouldn't even trade him for an o-lineman. I haven't seen enough of Quarless to decide on him, but right now I wouldn't do it.

It's comparable to seeing the Cardinals with out Anquan Boldin...they're not as good (of course, they don't have Warner, but still).

I'll go back on one of my points earlier: you can never have too many weapons.

Quarless will get a chance now that Lee and Finley are going to miss significant time. Should be interesting.
