So WHERE IS Lang, being Tauschers heir apparent he seems to have gone AWOL. WTF!

The team only keeps 7 OL active (like most teams do) on gameday, since most O-linemen play every snap of the game. Bulaga is a better tackle overall than Lang, and Spitz is better on the inside positions. That means Lang is the 8th OL and not active.

I do believe that Lang would be the best backup to Tauscher.

He's not injured. They dress out 7 OL on game day - that has been the 5 starters with Bulaga as T depth and Spitz for interior line depth. Lang has been inactive because he's not as high as Bulaga (LT of the future) and Spitz, who's the interior jack-of-all-trades. Once someone like Tausch or any of the 7 that normally dress goes inactive, Lang gets activated.

Someone has to go back and look at that 1996 season.. I remember thinking during that season we were getting decimated by injury.. hmmm yeah.. gotta have faith.

As far as Tauscher being out longer than this week, that has yet to be determined, according to sources. He still has swelling but the MRI didn't reveal anything of concern. Tauscher will probably need to be re-evaluated Friday and possibly next week.
