Not pulling the trigger on an RB is the issue that will ultimately hurt them. Not only because of the running game, but also the effects it has on the passing game. I believe this will be like the situation when he didn't pull the trigger to get Moss, in my mind it cost us a SB. We'll still be good, just not good enough.

I'm very familar with the Moss non trade. We could have had Moss for a 4th, very cheap for a HOF receiever. Oakland would have taken our trade because it was a higher pick than NE. Moss was willing to play in GB, Favre talked with him and wanted him. Ted Thompson wouldn't pull the trigger. Now NE gets a 3 for him. Great job by NE they get 3-4 years of service and move up a pick.

Moves like that and Bellichek is why thay win SBs.

My bad, you are right, oh drinker from the victory cup! However, they could have sweetened the offer to the 89th pick, of course we wouldn't have Aaron Rouse...oh wait, we don't have him. Anyway, my point is we should have made a better effort to acquire Moss and I do beieve it cost us the SB. We may be in a similar situation now at RB. I just think a 3rd or 4th and even add a 5th 0r 6th is not a high price to pay for a quality player when you are in SB mode. jmHo The H is capitalized because of recalling the Moss trade in accurately.

I guess winning all but one game in a season counts for nothing either.. Moss is a difference maker.. like it or not.

I'm sort of with Pack here, but with an asterisk. Moss is the best WR in the NFL. Not the second best. Not the third best. The best.

He is the best WR of the entire 2000s. He will be the #1 WR mentioned in the NFL All-Decade 2000s team. Guaranteed.

Moss would have been an upgrade. There's a pretty good chance in '07 we would have won the SB.

Unfortunately, Moss is also a douchebag. By 2010, he would be saying how the Packers don't treat him well and how unhappy he is. We'd probably have our Lombardi from 2007, Favre would be retired, Aaron would have taken over, and Moss would be unhappy.

The thing with Moss is with his super talents, you also get his chronic depression. Favre will probably retire after this season and in 2012, Moss would be saying how unhappy he is in Minnesota and how the Vikings don't appreciate him.

If Belichick can't handle Moss, NOBODY can.

Oh, boy. The Moss train again.

Randy Moss wouldn't have made us a Super Bowl participant in '07, that's just my feeling since he didn't play defense and our offense was pretty damn good.

'08 ... would his presence have made Brett stay in '08 and would we have won it all in '08? Would his presence have eliminated all the injuries we sustained?

That's if we had gotten our two year deal like we wanted.

After the '08 season, would Moss have stuck around? Would Favre have then retired?

Hindsight speak is sexy, but it makes me look stupid when I try to predict what would have happened.

I like Randy Moss the WR, I think he's above all in talent. I would have loved to see him as a Packer, sure why not. But at what price? Where would the team be now? I truly don't believe we'd have won it all in '07 or '08 for separate reasons and I think Brett would have called it quits after the '08 season, for good. What also would this have done with Aaron Rodgers?

It's a domino effect and I can't help think of it in that tone.

The point here is two fold..

1) We can all make the opinion on the Lynch deal solely upon the Lynch deal and the immediate impact it would have on the roster. We can all look at the Moss deal in MN and start to worry about those two games already. But the fact is.. the NFL season is all about change.. some good, some bad and and some build up or down as the season rolls by.

We, in this week, have been pummeled with some of the bad news.. which is injuries and not landing a potential replacement in one of those areas.. and it is hard not to take on a negative light from the various news of the past couple days.

But one of the good aspects that happen every season is players develop, seize opportunities or things just click for them. Last season we all had no idea what to expect from Matthews.. a kid that started less than a full season in college.. now the kid is hailed as one of the best players on this roster.

Why let a couple days end the season? Sure there are items to criticize or disagree with, but damn we have NFL level talent on the roster that should be able to at the very least have a chance to be this seasons Matthews, or Shields, or Grant..

2) Off of point number one.. there is no reason to bash, belittle or piss on those that openly criticize the team, the GM or the Coach. A coach and GM that hasn't won the superbowl in their tenure.. hell they have only won a single playoff game. There is plenty to cheer or discussion on their combined efforts. Thompson and MM are human.. they have flaws and warts... but they also make a ton of correct decisions and calls.

If you don't agree with the opinion of another talk to that opinion.. but why in the hell shade them as a bitcher, a non fan, a whatever cup of piss you want to splash at them.. they are just as entitled to that opinion as you to your opinion.

And I am just as guilty at times as others.. so this isn't a speech of righteousness.. just an observation of the past couple chippy weeks in Packer Nation. Or maybe it is a plea.

The season is young. we are tied in the NFL for the second best record, yet we have concerns or items that are worthy of discussion.. why can't the be the crux of all discussions and not banging, correcting, "duh'ing" our fellow fan?

So it is clear on my opinion.. I didn't want Moss and his attitude in Green Bay.. I just am pointing out that the defense that the Pats didn't win the Superbowl with Moss isn't a very sound argument in comparison to the Packers or 31 other teams every season.

I thought I was pretty realistic. Moss would upgrade any team's WR set, and create holes everywhere. Our O struggled against the Giants. He might have been the difference maker.

But he's got chronic depression. Woe is he. Nobody understands him. The world is so unfair. He needs to go to a team that appreciates him.

Like I said, if Belichick can't deal with Moss, NOBODY can.
