I am in no way saying that Moss isn't a threat, but I also feel picking someone up out in a desperate manner would be unwise unless we have an ongoing problem in coverage. Yes the pack-vikes games are possibly 2 of the biggest games to this team in regular season, but to react to a trade like that without sure reason would make us look as pathetic as the vikes.

I don't expect Ted Thompson to make any major moves to counter the Vikings trade but I wouldn't be surprised if we acquired a RB before the trade deadline.

tt is never influenced by other teams transactions. He always makes his moves with a LONG term plan in mind, for better or worse.

Looks like after a trade for MOSS, everyone has VIKINGS as the contender out of NFC NORTH. Hm I wonder how long will Ted Thompson & Mcarthy think before making a move that we really need. IMO the reason why we are not as good as we were last year is because we got no running game and the dumb ass Ted Thompson didn't grab LYNCH for fourth rounder? I bet a lot of people in Green BAY are PO at the upper office for not making a move. I AM REALLY PO that we are doing jack squad on getting better since we have been riddled with injuries. GROW SOME BALLS AND MAKE A MOVE Ted Thompson.

Randy Moss, with one of the two best QBs in the NFL (if not the best) in Tom Brady, a pretty good defense, and the best coach in the NFL could not help the Patriots get a Superbowl. Um, what exactly makes you think he can help the Vikes (lesser than the Pats in all of the above except maybe defense) to one?

Mike McKenzie would usually play Randy Moss well. Was it because he was fast? No! It was because he could press Randy at the line and disrupt his route running, thereby his timing with the QB.

Only if we have someone who excels in press-coverage.. someone like Charles Woodson... oh wait we do have him. And Al. And Tramon is not a bad press-corner himself and has been playing exceptionally this year - better than Sir Charles.

As for Lynch... being in Toronto we get extensive coverage of the Bills. You realize kingdom22 that Lynch is one incident away from getting a 1 year suspension, right? You realize he is a person who hit a woman pedestrian with his car and then sped away in the hopes of not getting caught, right? You realize he had a weapons charge against him, right? You are aware, are you not, that less than a year ago two women brought forward statements against Lynch about Lynch stealing $20 dollars from them and threatening them with consequences if they made it an issue?

Lynch is talented. He has skills that fit our run scheme.

He is also shown himself to be a poor human being, one who is one wrong move away from being suspended for 1 year.

Lynch, for all his talent, is more trouble than he is worth.

Barnett's injury is a bit of an eye opener. I'm still on the fence about what to do about Deangelo, what should have been done about Lynch, etc.

HOWEVER,

How many of us were clamoring for Hawk to be traded to Buffalo. Imagine the predicament the team could have been in now.

People on here were suggesting trading James Jones for Deangelo...but considering this apparent injury curse, imagine if Greg or Donald went down?

...food for thought.

I'm very, very glad that you don't know my real name. I'd go in hiding if you did. Risk of waking up tongueless is one I wouldn't want to take.

But I do know your real name. I even know your nickname, remember?

Oh, don't worry. You told me your tongue is genetic and your dad's is long too. I'll steal his instead. He had decades to enjoy its use. My turn.

Ha. You know my first name, my middle name and my nickname that sounds somewhat embarassing in English.

And you can't steal my dad's tongue, either. He's as good as crippled. You don't steal stuff from a cripple.

In all honesty, I don't think that this will let Ted make a move. We're feeling that we need to improve to keep up with the rest of the division, Ted seems to look at his team to see how good it is, not what the rest of the division is doing.

If anything, he'll try to pull the trigger on another RB since we were reportedly interested in Lynch.

I really wonder who that player was that Ted Thompson wanted to give up together with that 4th round pick.

Not pulling the trigger on an RB is the issue that will ultimately hurt them. Not only because of the running game, but also the effects it has on the passing game. I believe this will be like the situation when he didn't pull the trigger to get Moss, in my mind it cost us a SB. We'll still be good, just not good enough.

Come on now.. our passing game is good enough that it can't be stopped.. it can only be stopped by us. ;)

Seriously, you have to have balance, the threat of the run affects multiple facets of the passing game, facets like protection, routes, sets and one of the biggest helps to any passing game.. play action pass.

William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I'm very familar with the Moss non trade. We could have had Moss for a 4th, very cheap for a HOF receiever. Oakland would have taken our trade because it was a higher pick than NE. Moss was willing to play in GB, Favre talked with him and wanted him. Ted Thompson wouldn't pull the trigger. Now NE gets a 3 for him. Great job by NE they get 3-4 years of service and move up a pick.

Moves like that and Bellichek is why thay win SBs.
