this game sucked.
put whatever spin you want to on it but it sucked.
you cannot defend 18 penalties to me.
never!

and whoever said the refs did good must've been watching a totally different game - ya know, like the mnf idiot commentators. i swear to God if i had heard 'julius peppers' one more f'in time, i was gonna throw something thru my tv!! how many times did they say 'now look at what julius peppers did on this play' & he wasn't even IN the play?!? there were many missed calls which begs the question - what's the record for total penalties in a single game? cuz if they'd been called on both sides of the ball, i'm sure that game would've been the new record setter.

yeah i woke up & i'm still pissed.
deal with it.

18 PENALTIES. 18 PENALTIES.
The Oline needs to get alot better. Rodgers was still running for his life and they committed numerour holding calls to include TD's.

Who kicks to Devein Hester ???? Poor ST game plan. you do not kick to Hester!!!

Disappointed in this game because it should have been a big win with some smart decision making.

We may need to look a a RB that we can rely on a bit more then Jackson and Kuhn.

Oline and depth is not looking great and could hurt in the long run.

Excellent post, Porforis. You've hit all the high (and low) points. What I find this morning is that the 18 penalties are sticking in my mind in a most unpleasant way. A year or two ago I might have said, "Well, they're a young team, they're still learning the ropes, etc." but at this point, when the team should be at its peak, it's very discouraging. And penalties were not a big problem in the first two games. This game has raised some serious questions for me about the coaching. I would rather have a team that is less talented but plays smarter.

To make a long story short, Mike McCarthy is the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. What does that mean? That means he is NOT to be held accountable for ANYTHING relating to the Packers. Ever. Period.

That seems to be dripping with sarcasm but the rest of your post didn't carry such a stench. Do I sense some Ted Thompson hate, or am I completely missing the point? That being, pad level?

Its all sarcasm. And no, I do not hate Ted Thompson.

I'm feeling pretty much as you, Dave.

You know what is STILL pissing me off?

Remember last year when Fred Flintstone told us that he was not going to get too angry about "aggresive-type" penalties?

For a motherfucker that never says shit about shit, I cannot for the life of me figure out why he would say THAT shit.

shit.

Overreaction much? Way to let one loss count more than two wins. Solid win against Philly, mostly impressed that they bent but didn't break against an explosive Vick that's been lighting it up since. The Bills are the Bills, but still a very nice win.

The way I look at it is we played terrible and narrowly lost to a rival on their field. We play half way decent and we win the game easy. I talked to Bear fans today who all said the better team lost.

Eighteen penalties for over 150 yards, a PR for a TD, a lousy line drive punt that gave good FP right before halftime, a blocked FG, three INT's we had then didn't have, a TD called back on what I thought was a ticky tack holding call, and NONE of it did us in until Jones fumbles in their territory.

I mean come on. We play even half way decent and it's a win by two TD's.

I won't say we won't play some poor football along the way but I also highly doubt we will see a game where it's just mistake after mistake after mistake and it lasts all game long.

I said in the Bears thread this week that when the Bears win it's always ugly but this one really takes the cake. They GOT a W Monday but they didn't earn it. We just went out and gave it to them.

People want to analyize and dig and figure and ponder, bitch at McCarthy, and scream about a lack of running game, but the bottom line is we puked and no matter how many times we screwed up the Bears were "barely" good enough to do anything with it and lucked up on a win.

Spend a week on it if it makes you feel better. Pretty much a waste of time worrying about it as far as I'm concerned.

All the Bears had to do to win was sit back and wait for us to screw up. Which happened OFTEN.

Anyways.....i don't really count our "goal line stand" that much. Had their receiver not dropped the ball on the 4th down play, they would have had a TD. It wasn't because of our good play, it was the lousy play of the guy that SHOULD have caught the ball.

Allow me to rephrase. I'm not worried about the loss, but I would like to see them play to their full potential as a team. Wins are wins but more should be expected from a team with Superbowl aspirations.
