I know, I know, I know, I should be Google searching and trying to find some information myself, and I plan to, but I wanted to ask the forum.

What is up with TJ Lang? I know he had a wrist in training camp but is that still bothering him? He was a bright spot last season and now he is not even active on game day? If his wrist is still bothering him, is he close?

If healthy, could he have played any worse than Tauscher? If he could play at the same borderline terrible level, at least he has room to improve, no?

Let me know if you guys know anything more about this situation. Is he the future at RT?

He's probably not active because he's our 8th lineman. Most teams only keep 7 OL active for each gameday.

For now, Spitz is our backup at the inside positions, and Bulaga at the tackle positions.

I'd really like to see Lang instead of Tauscher though.

That's kind of my point. Both of our tackles have been struggling pretty bad, especially Tauscher, so it would seem to make sense to have your top backup at RT active. If for no other reason, to get him some reps if the game is going well.

Perhaps it's just me, but I think he needs to be active and standing on the sidelines ready to do in. It would be different if our line wasn't continuing to struggle.

So it's just a numbers issue?

Obviously Lang is not better than Tauscher at this point in the eyes of those that are right in front of these guys every day for hours.

I think Tauscher has done a decent job and got ripped on one holding call last night. Rodgers is upright MUCH MORE than at this point last year so I would be a little careful of what you ask for.

Could it be better? Yes. Would I be for taking the chance Lang makes it better? NO.

I'm with warhawk. I don't see Lang as being the obvious answer that some do.

It wasn't just a holding call. It was a holding call that negated a touchdown. That is important.

One? I counted two, but wouldn't be surprised if it was 3.

And one of his holding calls negated a TD.

I never proclaimed that Lang was better. I'm just wondering what is up with him. Tauscher may be better at this point, but the idea of someone nipping at his tails after a rough game might just push him a tiny bit. Also, who goes in if he gets injured anyway?

I hope it's not about Lang regressing though as I'm not sure we will be getting anything out of Tauscher beyond this season, if that.

And of all the calls that's the one that sucked the most. Actually there wasn't even that much contact between the two. Normally, when the Packers get into this flag every other play deal I dispute many I see but in this game the one on the TD against Tauscher was bogus IMO.

Moving on. Tauscher was probably one of biggest factors in why this team turned it around last year, and once again, Rodgers is way more upright this year so far than last year. We probably already had 15 sacks by the third game last year.

And you want to put Tauscher under the bus. Whatever. They went with guys the THOUGHT could do it last year and we all saw how that came out. Lang either hasn't shown, or, because of the wrist hasn't been able to show he can do it and that some here would like to experiment with that well...I'll take Tauscher thank you. He'll have to get worse then he has been for the last three games to convince me.

I'm not convinced he's washed up, but unless his performance starts improving, the question may come up... I just feel like the writing may be on the wall.
