Since Forte was drafted when the bears played the packers he hasn't been a factor.

Can we do it again against him this monday? He is used like Marshall Faluk in that system will we cover him as well?

I think that since he has been a bit of a star so far this season, we know what we have to game plan against. The bears o-line sucks and should give us plenty of chances to shut him down.

If we score first and score a bit, then he wont even be an option.

Just have to make sure somebody is covering him. It's not like he is a threat to run the ball.

I'm not nearly as concerned of Forte the running-running back as I am Forte the pass catching-running back. That's where he's done the most damage in weeks one and two and that's likely the area he has the most potential to hurt Green Bay.

If Martz is good at anything (like employing a system where QBs are routinely mugged) it is getting the ball to the running back out of the backfield.

Particularly in situations like 3rd and 8+ yards we need to be careful. The checkdowns have been successful against the Pack, but mostly in 3rd and very long (usually following a sack). I expect Forte to receive the ball early and often in the passing game, with the intention of eventually beating Green Bay deep over the top with Knox or Hester's speed.

As I said in another thread, it wouldn't shock me in the least if Green Bay just lit up the Bears. At the same time, I just see this one being tough and close. People belittle the Bears a little too-much.

For how atrocious they seemed to be last year to some, they finished 7-9 and both contests against them were close (last second TD to Jennings in the first contest, and a narrow-margin win in the second EVEN with all the turnovers Green Bay forced).
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Do you think they could use woodson as a S in this game and cover forte on some plays?

I think he will get his yards. It will be key for green bay to make Chicago play from behind. I think it will be a close game. Divisional games are always tough. This being a road game for us makes it even tougher.

In Martz' system, Forte is the Marshall Faulk type back. They're going to do a lot with him Screens, Check downs, put him in the slot, split him out wide etc. I'm more concerned with him receiving the ball than running, with the bear's limited talent at WR, they will try to get the ball to Forte as much as possible.

So far he has 79 yards rushing and a 2.9 average, BUT 12 catches for 188 yards, a 15.7 average and 3 TDs. Receiving stats that are, as of week 2, better than Jennings and Finley.

That's the big thing with the Bears so far. They have made more big plays than they normally do. In the last two weeks they have 13 plays of 15 yards or more for 403 yards. That's over 50% of their total yards on thirteen plays.

Against Dallas they go 1-11 on third down conversions but get 183 yards on 6 pass plays. They only gained 83 yards outside those six plays.

One weakness I see in our D is against the screen and TB's coming out of the backfield on a swing pass. I think you will see Martz testing our D there
but hopefully we can get Cutler rattled and they won't hurt us on big plays deep.

I think it will be a nail biter. I would love to think we kick their rears but Bears games aren't ever pretty. Most of the time the Bears rely on the other teams turnovers and poor play to eak out a win. Dallas got caught in that trap. Hopefully we won't.
