I expect the Packers to win, and I hope the final score something close to trom's prediction, but I don't think it'll be that easy. The importance of home field advantage cannot be underestimated in a rivalry game.

Our offense looked much improved in the 2nd half of the Bills game, but we'll need a running game next week to keep the Bears' front 7 honest. If we can't, they'll tee off and Rodgers will take a beating. It kills me to admit this, but I'm hating the idea of Lynch in Green Bay slightly less than I hated it last week.

i'm not saying the bears won't try and muster a win,i know these two games we came out slow, but the lions put up a good fight, and the c.b's who knows but martz was comfortable playing in a dome that is why they played well.i know they have hester for returns, but the bills have good returners too we kept them in check bears will be a headach but matthews will be a bigger one our d-line will be a monster they are starting to get better i feel a win.

We will win this game but it will be ugly. I'm not going to underestimate da Bears. da Bears were on TV while I watched the Packers on the computer. da Bears beat up on the Cows. Beat them up. I didn't expect that, and the Cows were in the Playoffs last year.

I also didn't expect Martz O to work with da Bears. It did. I was in shock. Yes, Hester is too stupid to be the primary WR in a complicated O like Martz draws out, but Cutler is adapting to it and finding ways to make it work.

Cutler will take hits though. CM3 will probably get his 7th and 8th sack of the season on him. But Cutler is an ugly man. I've told my son "never get in a fight with an ugly person. They have nothing to lose." Cutler is like that. He'll take the hits and get right back up because unlike Tom Brady, he doesn't care if his face gets a scratch.

I predicted 38-7 win over the Bills, but this week, I think it will be more like 28-17, but not pretty. I'm going to get angry more than once so I might stay out of the chat this upcoming week. Lovie Smith hates us more than we hate da Bears. He's obsessed with us. He's sick. He needs to see a psychotherapist. He's already left a dead rabbit in MM's stew.

I hope we don't go into this game over confident, because we could come out of this with a loss very easily. They are 2-0 with an asterisk, but they have won those games and seem to be building confidence. Our offense does seem to be still a little off. Yes I know we put alot of points on the board but Rodgers was far from being on and where the hell is Jennings in this offense.
This could be a reality check and if we win it could put us up 2 games on everyone in the division.

This may well be the best-written post I've ever seen you contribute to this board. I'm not sure I entirely agree with you -- I need a day or two to process this game -- but nevertheless, well done. +1

I cannot imagine the Packers going into this game over confident. This is the Bears. This is the division. You don't go into these games cocky. I am GLAD we play the Bears this week for this very reason. We go out of the division and play a decent team on the road and I could see the Pack slipping up.

I can't see it being very hard for the Packers to be totally focused for Da' Bears. This is probably one of the top three rivalries in all of football.

They live and die by the turnover and could easily be 0-2 so I expect to go in there and pop their balloon. They should have got beat by Detroit and how BAD was Dallas yesterday? They were TERRIBLE. Still, having said that it's probably best for the Pack the Bears stand 2-0 then the other way around. That's when you start looking past teams.

+1 about getting angry at this game. I'm pissed because I didn't get the company tickets in the box at Soldier field. So I will already be on edge. First of all, yeah, the Bears are very surprising so far. Not what I expected after following them trhough training camp and preseason, it was a train wreck. What the Bears do well on offense right now is attack the edes. They aren't doing squat up the middle fo the field except on blitzes and Olsen can get the seam. They have enough playmakers that can hurt you for even one play, it might be a touchdown. Forte lokos like his rookie year again, has his wheels back after his injuries last season. Knox and Hester have the wheels to get behind coverage, and Martz has been very smart getting the RBs out on the edges as receivers to create very intereting matchups. This Bears offesne is a hell of a lot smarter than the last 5 years have shown. He actually makes gametime adjustments. Like when the Cowgirls Jenkins went out and some kid came off the bench, right away Martz called a play that got Forte onto the new kid 1 on 1 and it was no match. So I expect the Bears to create some big plays against us, but I expect we make more big plays in the end and win it. I'm looking at a 3 point game, something like 31 to 28.

The matchup to watch is the same for both teams. Left tackle versus DE or OLB. The Bears played three different guys at LT. So watch for that to be exploited. And of course we have to contend with Julius Peppers. I also look to see our 3 DL to have big games, the interior of the Bears OLine is very porus, I expect Raji to have his biggest game yet.

Packers vs Bears always gets my blood flowing. Living in Chicago is rough during this time of the year so I put a lot more on the Packers winning in this game.

My 5 (random) questions for this game are...
1. Which Jay Cutler shows up?
2. Who can actually stop Clay Matthews on the Bears?
3. Does Forte continue to be successful or is our run defense THAT good?
4. Is Aaron Rodgers going to have enough time to make something happen?
5. Will the Packers be able to stop the short passing game?

Game is going to be won in the trenches. If Green Bay pressures Cutler, he's going to struggle and throw a couple of potential INTs. DBs just need to make the plays then.

However, the Chicago front seven is strong. They could give Rodgers problems and to be fair, Rodgers has never been ridiculously good against the Bears. He's been solid a times, but not amazing.

I see a 1 pt win by the Pack on this one, and that's a last second Crosby field goal as time runs out. I hope I'm wrong, but with the rivalry, Monday night and first place in the division up for grabs, this will be a bitter dogfight to the end. Oh, and Forte will light us up!
