What if Jackson rushes for 150+ yards against the Bills? Then what do we do?

Here's what I realized, most Packers fan want a veteran HB but they want that HB to be Lynch. Unfortunately Lynch is not a veteran, his a 3rd HB behind a Bills roster. Lynch has character issues and the second he lands in GB the problems will start.

Now why would you trade a solid LB with a 3rd string HB?

People don't seem to realize that the Packers are a Pass first offense meaning it's easier for any HB to come in and play for the Packers due to a dangerous pass threat that we have. Brandon Jackson / Ryan Grant are a perfect duo for this team and aren't appreciated enough.

I hope Ryan Grant stays with us for a long time. His been a 1000 > rusher his past 2 seasons on a pass first offense.

We got Finley, Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson etc...

Lynch is third on the depth chart because the Bills are the most clueless organization in the NFL. He is a 1st or 2nd RB on almost any other team in the NFL, and would be if he came to the Packers. Same thing as in Dallas, I wouldn't call Tashard Choice a 3rd string RB. That's called having quality depth at a position. And those stats for Grant as well as him being a good duo with BJack isn't being argued, but if you forgot, Grant will be putting up 0 yards the rest of the season, you heard it here first. Not saying Lynch is the answer for winning the super bowl this year, but the points about Grant don't make any sense in the discussion anymore for winning this year.

Lynch or his agent said he did not want to come to Green Bay. All I can find now is trade rumors about current events. But I know it was said several times because I had hoped for him to land here, until those comments came up. I now read that Lynch wanted to come to GB? I don't buy that because he said there was nothing to do in GB and it wanted to avoid playing in the cold.

Maybe it's my own bias, but I'd much rather live in Green Bay than Buffalo. Upstate New York might offer some geographic uniqueness/proximity to NYC, but in general I'd consider it the armpit of America. And in terms of weather, it's not exactly San Diego.

not to be critical of you but your buffalo to nyc reference is way off, there about 7-8 hrs away from each other thats with no traffic problems lol

I heard Lynch say he was looking forward to coming to GB but that's after everyone mock drafted him to GB and all his friends (according to him) were saying he better go buy a big warm jacket.

Upstate NY has some pretty cool outdoor spots when it's not freezing out. Beautiful mountains and other sights and the Hawks seem like outdoor nature people... (though I don't think there will be a big trade)

The main problem with upstate NY I'd say the taxes are pretty pricey and lots of it seems to disappear. Which has driven a lot of people out... and there for they're rising taxes even more... instead of just less spending.

I've heard Buffalo has been hit pretty bad with losing business and people.

And it sounds like the Bills' owners son thinks the Bills should and some day will have to move to stay alive. He's looking at moving them to Toronto. The owner has gone on record he'll refuse to move the team as long as he owns it but he's in his early 90s... so he should own the team another 25 years :thumbleft:

Hawk's playing career most likely will be over by then.

Bills run defense is actually quite strong normally. But they're missing their two ILB starters so that weakens the unit obviously.

The Bills defense isn't a terrible unit as a whole. They don't generate a lot of pass rush but they have good defensive backs and good run defense. It's their passing attack, which is the worst in the league, that makes them one of the worst teams in the league.

We have Jackson here for a reason, he is a good enough back to take over and be productive in our system. I actually think he gives us more of a pass option out of the backfield than Grant did. Also this will allow us a better chance to see Kuhn run the ball.

The GBP are not a sky is falling type of team, we all know how Ted Thompson operates. I see no reason why we should be willing to get rid of Hawk and probably a draft pick (which is what it would take) to obtain another running back who has nothing special to offer.

How much better for our taem is Marshawn Lynch than Brandon Jackson?

Is he a solid LB and draft pick better? I think not.

We do positively know that Lynch can be a 1000 yard rusher. We have zero indication of that for Brandon Jackson, only hopes.

DanJustDan, where is it said it would be Hawk and a draft pick to get Lynch to Green Bay? Considering the Bills say they aren't trading Lynch curious where that info came from.

Assumption, for the purpose of discussion. Since the Bills say they are not willing to trade Lynch, I believe we would need to provide more than just Hawk for a trade if they did change their mind. I don't see a straight up trade for Lynch. Even a trade of Hawk for Lynch wouldn't be worth it IMHO. I want Grant to come back and play next year.

Give Bjax a year of experience as a starter and we will truly have dangerous two back depth.
