Another misappropriated reference to Hawk's inaction in week one. It's not that he's a bad linebacker in passing situations, it's that Chillar is a better one. People will throw out generic simple-minded BS and cliches, "Good players get on the field!" We'll see plenty of Hawk on the field this week, when we're trying to keep a handle on Buffalo's anemic offense -- one that will attempt to run the ball.

The writer is taking editorial license to refer to Hawk as a "flat-out liability" in coverage. That's the equivalent to saying Quinn Johnson is an absolute liability in the Packers' run game because he's not a great pass catcher and didn't play a down last week.

Bleh. I hate the world.

Honestly, I am get more wound up when I see Hawk hesitating than I am with the coverage skills.. and to be honest, I know Hawk has the talent to play at this level physically as we have seen it at times.

And I make no bones about it, look at our linebackers under Moss.. seems to be a consistent trait.. then look at the difference in play between those under Greene vs Moss now.. only two buck the trend.. Bishop inside and Poppinga outside..

I would not be surprised in the least if Hawk were to flourish elsewhere.. and it would hammer home my beliefs upon Moss.

Interesting Bills article that points out clearly the homerism of the reporting world. He makes it that Hawk for Lynch is not even a fair trade for Buffalo. C'mon with Spiller and Jackson as their two backs Lynch is a name value bargaining chip who will see limited action. Unfortunately his baggage is hurting value.

Lynch or his agent said he did not want to come to Green Bay. All I can find now is trade rumors about current events. But I know it was said several times because I had hoped for him to land here, until those comments came up. I now read that Lynch wanted to come to GB? I don't buy that because he said there was nothing to do in GB and it wanted to avoid playing in the cold.

Brad Jones will not be traded. (opinion)

Hawk's house has been up for sale days prior to not playing a snap on defense and he could just be selling his house. He didn't know Grant was going to go down and he'd be a viable option to be traded.

There's too many things in that article that can be conjured up from reading reports around the internet for me to put stock into it. Interesting yes it is, but I don't think it holds any water.

We also wouldn't call the Cowboys about Barber, he's 27 and I think the Packers would rather trade for someone younger in hopes of improving their RB stable, not trading someone for a bandaid for the year.

I'm not saying Lynch desn't want to come to GB, people change, but there's no way he wanted to prior to the draft. I swear on my left testicle he said he did not want to come, or his agent said that's what his clients wishes were.... to avoid the Packers that is.

The Bills have three "decent" RB's, yes, but two of them have been dinged up. Yes, they are far more thin at LB than RB.

You know what AJ Hawk and Ryan Grant have in common?

They both don't get the respect they deserve from Packers fans. I don't get it. I saw Lynch play at Cal & yeah, he was good back then. But this is the NFL now and he's not even the starter on the team with the worst O in the NFL. AJ Hawk is a notch under Solid. Not someone I'd give up for a RB.

Someone said it already, but let's wait to see what Jackson can do before we pull a move like this. What if Jackson rushes for 150+ yards against the Bills? Then what do we do?

That's what scares me about this happening the week of playing the Bills. A lot of us might be able to run 150+ yards on them, so I hope that the praise to BJack is tempered since it will be against the Bills.

We will need a RB that can get it done right away and not an experiment or a player needing several games to get going. This would bleed over and allow defenses to concentrate on our passing game. We can beat the Buffalo's and weaker teams one handed but not the Vikes, Boys, and NE's that way.

I guess my question to you is do you see any other option out there other than Marshawn Lynch? I won't lie, when I read the JSOnline article yesterday about Rodgers being open to taking in Marshawn, I was a little intrigued.

I'm sure his production has been lackluster because well, he is in Buffalo. What could be the possibility of outcome for him in Green Bay?

My problem with taking Marshawn is he is not a back-up runningback. Coming to Green Bay, he plays a back up role to Brandon Jackson. I would have to do some research, but I think there are reliable back-up runningbacks out there that would compliment Jackson or be able to fill in if he were also to go down, for a cheaper price than Marshawn. The Bills would ask for more than he is worth.

I really don't care who it is but I think the Pack is on thin ice if they wait around and don't get a proven RB before Bjack goes down. When your a good team and poised to make a run RB is a key position and going with a player with fingers crossed hoping they work out is a huge risk in the big picture.

I don't like Lynch much but it really doesn't matter when you consider we don't use Hawk nearly as much as in the past and we have Bishop so that position looks far more covered than RB. For now the Pack can move forward pretty much status quo but very much at risk if BJack gets an owie. Like I say it's the big picture. We have a yellow flag next to the DL (rotation wise) and a red one at RB the way I see it.

I am sure Thompson is doing exactly what you suggest and scouring lists to see who might be that guy. At least I hope this isn't the only option they have right now. I think you can throw out what Thompson traditionally does or doesn't do and figure he's very aware of how they stand. I mean that's his dang job he should be.

Maybe it's my own bias, but I'd much rather live in Green Bay than Buffalo. Upstate New York might offer some geographic uniqueness/proximity to NYC, but in general I'd consider it the armpit of America. And in terms of weather, it's not exactly San Diego.
