Has anyone seen the America's Game for the 98 Vikings?

It comes under the missing rings series. I watched this for the first time last night and have to say, watching an overview of the season again, a very commendable effort.

If Randy Moss had a Rice/Driver type personality and work ethic, I do not doubt for a minute that he wouldn't have gone down as the greatest reciever of all time. Watching highlights of his rookie season makes me realise just what a special talent the Vikes had, and lost. Freakish, once in a generation type player.

Dennis "The Bears are who we thought they were" Green narrates the thing, with Cris Carter and John Randle. I must say, hearing Randle and Carter describe the pain when the Falcons field goal was good made me yelp like a bitch in heat.

I haven't seen it, but the '98 Vikings and the '07 Patriots are two of the best teams ever that did not win a Championship.

Randy Moss is the best WR in the NFL today, period. I'm tired of arguing it, and don't understand why people bother. He's the best WR since Rice and I agree if he had Driver's work ethic, he'd be better than Rice. He doesn't, so he'll retire with Rice's records still intact. He'll come close though, close enough to give Rice a scare.

I've said Moss was the best WR for a long time, not many want to admit it for some reason.

He would need another 8,372 yards, 619 receptions, and 50 touchdowns to surpass Rice. He's also 33 years old already.

Moss has averaged 1,200 yards, 77.2 receptions, and 12.3 touchdowns. Even if he were to hold that pace he would need 7, 8, and a couple weeks into 5 seasons to break the yards, receptions, and touchdowns records respectively.

I don't know how much longer he will play. I tend to think 2 or 3 more years putting him at about 35 or 36. Assuming I'm right he won't get close in yards or receptions, but he'll be close in touchdowns. If I'm wrong and he plays longer he might score more receiving touchdowns than anyone else in history and he'll bridge the gap to Rice's records in yards and receptions. Regardless, he is undoubtedly the best receiver we've seen since Rice and one of the most dominant players of his era.

Edit:
Lol, if you add Donald Driver's numbers to Randy Moss's they just barely break Rice's three records. Damn.

Moss may have been the most talented at one time, but he never had the discipline Rice did. It all came too easy for him so he never worked at it. He had the talent but not the heart.

Moss does work hard at his craft, but I don't feel he works hard at staying in shape, which is where Rice dominated most and also attributes to his longevitiy.

If Moss worked out like Rice, I think he'd be very close to his numbers by now.

True. Moss is/was good. But for whatever reasons, he didn't give his all. So he won't surpass the records.

Nobody can workout like Jerry Rice. Have you seen the hills he's ran. Ridiciulous.

Certainly the 98 Vikings and 07 Patriots like stated by Zombieslayer, are the two best teams not to of won the Super Bowl. Honestly, I can't think of any other teams that come close. Not off the top of my head. Maybe Buffalo.

I'll tell you this. That Super Bowl between Denver and Minnesota would've been off the charts good IMO.
