This trade is too Madden-esque. Lynch is SOO 2008. Let's move on. No need to trade our starting ILB -- a fact that gets lost. Yeah, yeah, he didn't play a snap. I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll see a little base D against the Bills (not regarded as a spread-it-out offense, durr hurr).

Outside of Lee Evans, the Bills have no real pass-catching threat. They also have a QB who plays sub-par, despite some good tools.

They have a very deep stable at RB, and will play to that quite a bit. I expect to see Hawk get quite a few snaps this week, as I believe we'll be playing a lot of base D to counter the Bills' rushing game.

Agreed, we don't need Lynch. As of right now Lynch < Jackson so why would we trade a starting LB for a backup RB?

Marshawn Lynch is the anti-Hawk -- and that's meant pejoratively. Lynch is all flash, no substance -- and add the "character" issues in there to boot. Hawk may not light it up, but he's been a solid defensive contributor.

It isn't going to be every week that we run nickel 100% of the time. I think having Hawk in there for base defense is best -- and also as depth for in case Barnie or Chillar go down.

We're sitting one game into the season. IMO there are far too many snap judgments going on. We don't know the character of this team just yet, why pull the trigger?

Well, there are pictures of Hawk on the wall in some of those pictures, I do believe.

Regardless, that's an incredible house!! wow.

I was VERY high on Lynch when he came out of college. I'm not fond of the character issues at all. Saying that, I can see why he would be "disgruntled" in Buffalo. The passing offense he's had in Buffalo for his 3 years were ranked 30th, 22nd, and 30th. I'm sure defenses were stacking the box like mad. On the flip side, Fred Jackson DID put up higher YPC in '08 and '09.

One trend I've noticed about the Packers and rumors. If we're talking about it, it's very unlikely to happen. I can't remember a rumor we spoke about, that came true. I'm sure that has been, but I remember many that didn't and not one that did.

So, we're talking about it, it won't happen. Maybe Ted puts feelers out there, then sees us chatting it up and yanks his interest, lol.

I've noticed the say thing... it seems like the GB media doesn't have access to inside the Packers.

Off the top of my head the only rumor I remember at this second that came true was the Safety Smith was going to be cut. And I don't remember the GB picking up on that one.

After mulling it over I came to the conclusion that GB can NOT trade Hawk.

My reasoning- I spent big bucks a couple of years ago to by my wife a white Hawk jersey. If he is traded it will go to the back of the closet never to be seen again. Worse yet she will then borrow my green Driver jersey and leave me to chose between Nate Wayne, Kampman and Fffffff I just can't say it "Ol #4, put er in the ol vise" jerseys.

Just as a talking point, how would you all feel if is was Bishop up for trade as opposed to Hawk?

Hawk's had 86 to 119 tackles in each of his four seasons with the Packers.

Lynch in the last three years.
Highest was 1,115 (13 games), lowest 450 (13 games) and posted a 4.0 and 3.8 ypc for those two years. 7 TD's, then 8 TD's then 2 TD's.
