I refuse to get my hopes up, and losing Hawk would deal a blow to our ILB depth. Plus he fits the cliche of a true "Packer" - hard working, all about football, etc. But I still find myself a little excited.

They released Francois from the PS for a reason.. he'll be signed to the active roster to replace Hawk.

It makes too much sense, this is going to happen.

Aside from the other obvious issues other people brought up regarding your idea, trading Hawk for Lynch means we would still have a full squad. Who would we be cutting to make room for Francois and why weren't they cut in the first place?

I'm surprised it hasn't occurred to anyone that AJ Hawk may simply be listing his house to see if he gets any interest and determine the strength of the market for a house worth almost $2 million. In today's economy, it's rare that a house gets snapped up immediately, and if he has a pretty good notion he won't be here next year due to the fact that he'll be overpaid, he may want to improve his chances of unloading the house by having it on the market in advance.

This happens everyday. People who don't need to move but would "for the right price" list their houses for much more than they expect to get for them, just in case they get offers. Then they either gradually reduce the price until it's more reasonable or they pull the house off the market after it becomes obvious no one is biting.

Why trade A.J. Hawk when he can help you? Green Bay isn't in the process of dealing players when they're competing for a Super Bowl.

Buffalo is because they're rebuilding. If a trade goes down, highly unlikely the Packers send a player the caliber of Hawk.

Yep, he could also want a bigger house or to move to another neighborhood, or have any other reason to move. Some times, people read way too much into things on these boards.

I'm not sure that's Hawk's house. Shortly after he signed he was talking about how he bought a home within two or three miles from the stadium. And that house was put up almost a week ago, if that matters.

As for trading Hawk, I don't think we will, but wouldn't be surprised. There was also someone mentioning trading him to the Cowboys for a RB. I'm not sure about that either.

With the trouble the Bills are having at the LB position, that would make sense.

Hate it.

Never liked Marshawn Lynch. He's a fruitcake; a gold-teefed gansta wannabe.

No thanks.

And I'm not that worried about running back anyway. I think BJack will be fine. We need depth, not a starter. I'm much more concerned about DE...

"Since69" wrote:

+1 I totally agree other than I'm more worried about ILB.

Where were the Packers taken apart last year? ... over the middle where the LBers are suppose to be. We got decent players at ILB but nothing great.

A.J. Hawk's agent wants to make it clear his client his asking for a trade. But he wouldn't mind leaving town either.

I'm leaning this direction as well. Combine this with Buffalo's depth at RB, Grant's injury, and us playing nickel against Philly all game and you have the perfect storm of bullshit rumor material.

Ding, ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

This trade is too Madden-esque. Lynch is SOO 2008. Let's move on. No need to trade our starting ILB -- a fact that gets lost. Yeah, yeah, he didn't play a snap. I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll see a little base D against the Bills (not regarded as a spread-it-out offense, durr hurr).
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.
