In my opinion, Hawk has more value than Lynch. Yes, he's been reduced to a base LB in our defense, but that position is also one of the deepest on the team. I have no doubt that many teams would see him as a full time 3 down player.

Also, perhaps another coach thinks he can get more out of him than Moss does? With Hawks potential and lack of any off the field concerns, his value exceeds that of Lynch and would be worth Lynch and another late rounder, IMO.

I am all for optimism and glass 3/4 full views.. I try and center myself there as well.. but I think a bit of healthy realism is always due as well.

We all clamor for the next guy in line at times.. some have that favor for Jackson.. or picking up another named back. Hell I do it all the time with Hawk vs Bishop... and like all others I have my own biased reasoning for it

I want Jackson to step in and take over the reigns now that he will be forced to.. but looking back into college, he has a history of nicks and missed games.. and as a fan I just want my team to be prepared for it if it comes to light.

I don't doubt you at all bud, that's why I would like to see a bit more insurance on a super bowl hopeful team. Of course we as fans lean towards established talents vs. no namers because we simply don't know much about them. Pre-season footage is good, but it only tells part of the story as many factors influence such a performance.

1st people complain that Nacne is a no name and wont do anything

then there is a RUMOR that we can get a top 20 draft pick back from same draft Hawk came from and people still complain that its not good enough

I gained from that? Some wont be happy...

Now no one go and get all pissy because I am including posts I seen on 2 other forums about this Hawk trade

Hawk will barley play this year and is due 11 million?? People ok with paying Hawk that amount? Hoping he would re-do his deal, or cutting him and get nothing?

With Jackson, Kuhn, Nance and maybe soon Starks I feel alright right now.

If we're going to trade some than I would think it'd be a DB. The Packers have 6 CBs and 4 S on the active roster with Harris and Bigby on the PUP list which they'll be wanting on the active roster.

Also it will be interesting if Harris, Bigby and Starks comes back who gets cut (or what players get put on the IR).

I was thinking that same thing; but Id rather have options then not have them.

Perhaps Hawk is too much to give up to acquire Lynch, but how about Bishop for Lynch, and maybe a 6th or 7th round pick.

Hawk for Lynch. Maybe a pick or a linebacker from the Bills too to sweeten the deal. Sounds pretty good to me.
