I'm happy with the win.

Aaron Rodgers was fine. But he would've been good if he stopped trying to force the ball to Finley all the time.

I am just happy that Clay seems like he did indeed spend enough time worrying about how to get after the QB with all of the time he was apparently wasting on trying to find a new sack dance.

When we have a lead in the 4th quarter, we don't play to win. It seems that we play not to loose. With 5 minutes left in the 4th and up by 7, I would have loved to see the Pack try to put them away and go for the jugular. It seemed that they were just playing to not turn the ball over.

See, here is why I think it is stupid to criticize playcalling: 1) you did not spent more than one week going through the Eagles' games from last year and this pre-season scouting the defense; and 2) you were not on the sidelines.

McCarthy obviously sets up his game-plan based on what he finds on the tapes he watches.

He is also on the sideline, and has a pulse of the team that you or I (or any fan, for that matter) cannot get.

His QB is clearly having the worst game of his pro-career as a starter, readily admitting he missed throws he would normally make in his sleep. His OTs have shown they are struggling with simple 4-man rushes, and have given up 3 sacks in the game. It is raining, and the ball is slippery. Your Defense has been chasing a QB that looks great, and is hurting the D by moving the ball up and down on them. Said D is clearly looking tired and worn out, with your two best pass-rushers being gassed and having a hard time with multiple fractures in his left hand (CM-III and Jenkins respectively).

There clearly are a lot of things that Mike McCarthy has to account for when calling plays. It's pretty stupid IMO to criticize a coach when, frankly, he has put in the time studying film to understand the opponents, and has the best feel of his football team on the sideline.

Personally, I think Mike McCarthy did what any reasonable coach would have done with a 7-10 point lead and facing a late push by the opponents: tried to eat up the clock by turning to his running game.

What you laid out is pretty much my argument for playing to win. Two weak runs on first and second down leaves a 3rd and somewhat long...perfect time to pin the ears back and put pressure on. Our defense was tired, we needed some first downs. A 3 and out wouldn't seal the deal. Play action to Finley would have been great there. Eating up the clock doesn't necessarily mean run the ball. You score on that drive and it doesn't matter who you have in on defense, we win the game.

With that being said, we did win the game. I would just like to see the Packers step on their throats when they have their opponent on the mat.

I liked when he did "the Hulk". Simple and to the point with no wasted movement. I gave it a 6.5 because of the low difficulty.

The East German Judge gave it a 2.

Fair enough, but based on Rodgers' play up to that point I am not so sure I would have wanted the ball in his hands... (it feels pretty weird writing that considering his success thus far)

I can't believe I read this whole thread. At least the Clay Matthews picture was good.

The first postgame thread of the regular season gets derailed by the language police on page three. This does not bode well for Packers Home.

I hope Jenkins doesn't have to miss any games. He's one of our most important players.

I don't think the playcalling down the stretch was the problem. The running game was pretty good. They just needed to make one or two good plays in the passing game to seal the win, and they couldn't get it done.
