This Packer team needs to prove themselves to me as well as a lot of other fans. I've lost a lot of confidence in them. For one thing, it's hard for me to imagine them stopping Michael Turner. So I'll say Falcons 27 Packers 24.

Incredible.

Very disappointed with the football team right now. Rodgers played his heart out with a banged up shoulder and nearly put the team on his back to victory. The defense played terrible and the fact that we couldn't contain White in the 1st half ended up hurting us greatly. I expected Turner would have a good game, but I didn't think it would make that type of impact that it ultimately did..

edit - Also, that hold by Jermichael Finley that put back that 43 yard field goal really came back to haunt us. I just realized that.

There's no joy in having predicted the score of this one. The Falcons are one of the worst teams in the league, but right now the Packers are playing even worse. It's incredible how quickly they have fallen apart. When opposing RB's run into the Packer defense, it's like they are running into a pillow fight. And the O-line is just plain horrible. Spitz was the only O-lineman who avoided embarrassment today.

Nope not at all but it was a fair prediction indeed. I can't say enough about how terrible the offensive line is. It seemed like during every other pass play Rodgers was being flushed outside the pocket and had to throw it away. The times he was given a sufficient amount of time, he was able to make a play. esp: The Driver TD.

Oh, that's awesome. Good indeed, you don't see many people from this neck of the woods around online.

And to stay on topic, I've kinda finally got over the loss. I was really disappointed earlier but there's still plenty of season left and I think we're still the best team in the division either way.

So far this season? Yes.

But for the long haul, and an overall standpoint, I think we are the better football team. Chicago has actually looked decent though. I just think it will take a bit for this Packers team to gel again. They have been banged up mightily and just can't get their heads back into the game since the loss to Dallas.

Of course, this is just my opinion and I can see how Chicago is looking better than us at this point and time. They are the division leaders and rightfully so.

I thought I'd make some rather detailed predictions and see how close I can get:

1) Less penalties. After a few days of fundamentals practice I expect the players to take heed of the importance of not giving up mental mistakes. Packers will make about 6 penalties, and probably half will be pass interference, mostly due to the backups (Williams, Lee, Peprah, Bush).

2) Rodgers will start. I doubt he'll finish the game. Probably plays about a quarter to a half or so in total, drives the Packers to score when necessary and letting Flynn do the major grunt work. (Or, that's what I'd probably do). If I were to guess their stats, Rodgers will probably finish with 1 or 2 TDs with an INT. Will be an efficient, but pedestrian performance. Flynn won't throw an INT but maybe a TD, but will be poor in yardage and % completion.

3) Better running game. But not from Grant, I think Brandon Jackson will get his share of reps and he'll deliver a nice game. There'll be a larger amount of run plays, with some big gains. But mostly grinding it out, keeping the injured defense off the field and not putting too much pressure on Rodgers/Flynn.

4) Falcons will play pretty well offensively from both Ryan and Turner, but turnovers and poor finishing will be their downfall. I think they'll be stopping and starting, having a few good drives with a big play or two delivering scores, but mostly some really lousy ones.

5) Atlanta defense will be decent, starting off well, tailing off a bit and coming on stronger later in the game.

6) As for ST, Frost continues to disappoint in the consistency department, shanking one for around 30 yards. But he'll generally perform a lot better this game with some nice punts. Crosby will see a few FGs his way and will perform as usual. A few nice returns by Blackmon sets up some easy FGs for the Packers. Management may look at another punter tryout after the game.

7) Another injury. When it rains, it pours unfortunately 😞. It'll worry people at first but later revealed to be minor, and we all breathe a sigh of relief.

End result:
Packers win a close one, around 27-24. People will again question the playcalling of Mike McCarthy after simple, uninspiring runs and passes in winning the game, but then that's the point, which they will fail to grasp.

Post game revisit.

1) Less Penalties. Maybe this prediction was a week too early. Surely, professional football players will get their act together after 2 weeks of fundamentals practice. I don't think this is too much to ask for.

2) Rodgers deserves some accolades for this one. 3 TDs and 1 INT. A costly one to throw, no doubt. I think his toughness and the positives outweigh the INTs, underthows and sacks. I'd give him a solid B+ performance.

3) Not enough run plays to matter, but the yardage was there. Looks like we'll have a slow buildup back to getting the running game back. Good to see Grant getting some yards, though I'm happy with the efficiency of Jackson.

4) Well, almost. They were a bit better than I gave them credit for.

5) I am unable to watch the game so I can't say how the momentum shifted, but from what I can tell, I think I was pretty right here.

6) 37 yard punt with 2.9 second hang time. Disappointed with ST in general.

7) Looks like this can go to Clifton, who may as easily be sitting in the naughty corner as in the medical rooms.
