Remember guys, this is the first time Raji is playing NT. He will get better with experience, and he is already good at NT.

I think he will be a monster in 2-3 years.

I also think Pickett is a better NT than Raji. Pickett gets very little pass rush, but he also made very little mistakes.... Raji on the other hand does get pass rush BUT he also loses focus where the ball is and what's going on with it...

The Colts game showed it well... Raji forced Manning to move and roll out a couple of times. But he also gave up RB Addai's very long run... Addai was right next to him with the ball and he didn't notice he was coming and once he did it was too late as dived for an arm tackle and it didn't even slow up Addai.

Hopefully Raji can improve but I still wouldn't mind it if Pickett was the NT if/when the other team gets inside the Packers 10 or 5 yard line... less mistake is better in tight spots IMO.

Couldn't disagree more on your analysis of Raji giving up the Addai run play. First off, he was attacking the A gap and was double teamed by the center and guard, he then fought back towards Addai while his left shoulder was being jammed by the guard, not much more he could do. Raji forced the cut back and Chillar was up Raji's ass and couldn't fill the gap.

Raji did leave his gap and went into Chillar (which I don't see as a problem as long as the LB can figure that out and switches gaps which Chillar didn't (Chillar fault IMO))

But Raji had a great shot at tackling Addai behind the line if he realized Addai was there and had the ball earlier but he had his head down trying to get to Manning still and didn't realize who had the ball.

Addai long run was a lot of guys faults including Raji, Chillar, Underwood, Collins and Burnett. But Raji and Underwoodcould of gotten Addai before he got a yard. In Underwood defense if he attacked and missed Addai would of had the whole side as Underwood had containment so reacted first instead of attacking.

Honestly everyone makes mistakes you can't say he is pretty bad off of once givin up play for a long run.
IMO Raji will double his stats this year and maybe get a couple more sacks if he is healthy.Only problem I see with Raji is he doesn't sometimes take advantage of his opportunity's which I think he will improve apon this year.I seen people on this thread saying that Pickett should play NT instead of Raji really I think that could mess up apart of are Dline and making the switch back again would make no sense at all.And Raji's Natural Position is NT let him play it and see if it pans out.

I'm not saying it because of one play... he's loses track of where the ball too often... as he puts his head down and rushes up field. Raji can't wait to get to the QB... I like that as long as he remembers they can and will run it as well and he has to get after the RB as well.

I must say I was a bit upset when they replaced Pickett at NT. I'm bothered whenever you take a player who clearly excels at his position and move him somewhere else or ask him to do something else. Especially when you do it and the person filling the old position is being given it largely on "potential".

I don't dislike Raji. In fact IMO he's one of TT's top draft picks, one that anyone should feel free to use whenever I whine about TT's draft record.

But IMO you don't mess with success.

I'm over my initial upset...but I still think the jury is out on whether it was a good move or not.

And given what Mike Neal has shown at DE...I wonder a bit whether Neal/Pickett/Jenkins (with Raji rotating in from time to time at NT) might be better than Pickett/Raji/Jenkins.

Or, tho this is not the place to revisit the "4-3 or 3-4" debate, but could you imagine a line that had Kampman/Pickett/Raji/Jenkins with Neal as the #5 player? Ah well...woulda/coulda/shoulda
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Okay, week 1 is in the books, and I'm ready to write a report on B.J. Raji.

I really believe that he can be a great NT in this league. He showed today that he was worth drafting #9 overall.

He ate up double teams and helped tremendously in run support. Not to mention, he also had a sack of his own. He easily got around the G trying to block him, and plastered Kevin Kolb.

Even though he only had one sack in the stat column, he continued to push his linemen back into the QB throughout the game.

It appeared that Raji had a chance to tackle Lesean McCoy on his TD run inside the redzone, but the lineman got away with holding on him, or else I think he would have stuffed him in the backfield.

Let's see how he does throughout the season.

I know I didn't write a lot, but I'm a rookie at doing these kinds of reports. Hopefully I will improve.

I'm loving what I saw today from him. This is exactly what we need with our lack of pass rush on the outside. Inside pressure is very valuable since it is difficult for a QB to properly get away from it.

Let's see this continue throughout the season with the big man.

Raji and Jenkins were pretty ridiculous with the pass rush today.
