It came down to a lack of interest on the Packers part of re-upping his deal.. character very well may have played into that.
I watched the Browns beat up on the Giants.. Corey played up and down the line and was generally facing a double team.. something that he didn't see alot of in Green Bay.. Pickett usually drew the double last year.
It is pretty simple.. we had a surplus of DT's at the time, most with far lesser contract numbers than Williams was looking for.. so we dealt him instead of signing him for bigger money, which at the time was IMO the right call.
Corey sees all these other guys getting money.. and he wasn't getting alot of play.. so it upset him. And as a person.. if you feel you are deserving of something.. it usually sticks in your craw.
Then the offseason comes, Harrell hits an injury, Muir comes back in a regressed state and isn't worth the roster spot.. and wala you have a shortage and the doubters start to creep out of the wood work.
We could of used Corey at this point, but it isn't worth fretting over.. hindsight is always 20/20 compared to decision at a time.
I am pissed Ted's crystal ball failed.
