To me it is how comfortable he looks. Espicially I notice it when he gets out of the pocket. When you seem him running toward the sidelines he is not franticly sprinting or looking like a deer in the headlights. He just casually jogs keeping his cool, like everything is going in slow motion to him. On plays like that I am impressed with how he does not look like he is rushing things.

I have to go with all of the above. There's no one thing in particular that has surprised me, but I've been surprised that there is no major weak spot in his game, as one would expect in a first-year starter.

He looks like a 3rd year starter rather than a 1st. The great thing is he should only get better as the season progresses. If he is this good now
what will he be like next season? I perdict in the seasons to come he will be one of the elites in the NFL barring any setbacks.

He looks like a 3rd year starter because he sat behind Favre for 3 years. I expected Rodgers to be cool and comfortable, which he is this year, but he still needs to learn the timing of the passing game a bit more. The quick releases, and 'feeling' when the ball needs to be out. Hearing the footsteps of angry DLinemen... He has done well so far this year, but getting the ball out even a half second earlier will help with keeping him on the field.

But all in all we have a player at QB. Hes got the arm, the smarts, the balls, a great situation with talented young WRs, as well as a consistent scheme and coaching staff. DGB is correct that for the next 5-10 years Aaron Rodgers will be a top 5 NFL QB. Just as long as the team around him stays talented, and he doesn't get a career ending injury...

And lastly, bring in better Offensive Linemen and keep Rodgers upright. If Rodgers is healthy, the Packers will have a chance to win every week for years to come.

How he has handled the first portion of this season is quite remarkable. I don't know when the last time a player had the kind of pressure to show what he could do yet he conducts himself like it's a practice out there.

If I were think of a word to describe his demeaner it woud be:

ICE !

Rodgers is awesome and I'm incredibly excited about him. He's far exceeding my expectations (I wasn't expecting him to fail, but I didn't expect pro bowl numbers).

He's handled all of this pressure perfectly and played within the system while also having a number of improvised plays.

He has the demeanor of a certain QB to the East.. one that is a legend already and he isn't even done playing the game.

This QB has shown time and time again to show a calmness in the fury.. a unbreakable will to win.

Yes.. Aaron's composure reminds me of Tom Brady. Always seems to be composed.. even in the Tampa game and 3 picks later.. he looked unrattled.

ICE is about correct there Warhawk.. go back and look at Tom's first playoff run after taking over for an injured Bledsoe.. Drew got healthy and the pressure was placed upon Tom.. it didn't rattle him.. much like the shoes Aaron has been wearing as of late.

Oh.. but I cheer for Rodgers.. and jeer for Brady.. his play pisses me off as the opposition.

What has surprised you or caught you off guard about Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers QB?

This can be good or bad.

Sidenote: other QB mentions will be edited out and/or deleted. This is all Aaron :)

Not one thing. I expected exactly this, and I'm happy he's lived up to my expectations.

OK, I take that back. I didn't realize he was that good of a scrambler. So that's one.
