The thing that I notice more with Aaron than other QB's I watch is his calmness. He doesn't seem to get rattled. He'll be in the pocket and you would have NO clue if you didn't know he was on a field. You'd think he was preparing to catch a frisbee on a sunny day in the park. To me, that's amazing.

How he has handled the first portion of this season is quite remarkable. I don't know when the last time a player had the kind of pressure to show what he could do yet he conducts himself like it's a practice out there.

If I were think of a word to describe his demeaner it woud be:

ICE !

haha i nicknamed him Ice yesterday in the game thread as well. and not just because of his play either. how he handled the preseason pressure and off season drama was cold.

I personally think thats one of the main factors in any great QBs traits. Arm strength sure sure... but cool on the field only the greats have.

Yeah I see it too. I kind of see the emotion Favre had from time to time, but also that "awwh shucks" type of attitude Montana would bring.

Not saying he's on the level or ever will be of either. I doubt it, but you see qualities in Rodgers that you've seen in great QB's before. That's encouraging.

I don't think anything has surprised me, so much -- there was so much I simply didn't know about the kid to begin with. I remember seeing him in the college all-star QB challenge and it was clear he had a hell of an arm, and obviously his performance against Dallas last year was an eye-opener.

What I'm seeing that I like is all stuff you folks have mentioned -- most of all, though, it's the demeanor. He seems driven and focused and so far nothing has knocked him off course -- not all the offseason crap, not a shoulder injury, not a bad performance against Tampa. All of that would topple a pretender, and he's withstood it wonderfully to this point.

I'll just point to his post-game on field interview, where the d-bag interviewer predictably went right to a Favre question -- Aaron ignored it completely and just focused on the game, saying he was proud of the complete team performance they put together. One out-of-context quote aside, he's clearly a classy kid who's got his head on straight and his focus where it needs to be. I couldn't be happier with where he's at right now.

when i saw him in preseason games i thought he would be a good q.b he had a good teacher in coaches and a mentor in brett i think the clip board on the side lines helped, but i do like his playing abilites, sure his shoulder is brusied which takes time to heal but even when we were behind in some games he came back and played well he didnt throw to d-lines often except for tampa each week he is playing better and better, yesterday o-line gave him time which helps
