Only makes sense to cut Johnson if they plan on bringing in a 3rd RB with Lumps getting cut.

"RainX" wrote:

It may mean that they plan to have Kuhn take become RB #3 behind Jackson and Grant. Although it's pretty obvious that they like Kuhn near the goalline as a passing and running option.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

They like Kuhn near the goal line because he's a triple threat... which gives the Packers more options which MM likes.

Blocking, running and catching... he's not great at any but above average at all three.

There should be a Mel Kiperesque website listing the "Best Available Players" from everybody cut from all the NFL teams. We could go and kibbitz about who the Pack should acquire.
BAD EMAIL because the address couldn ot be found, or is unable to receive mail.

Havner is surprising only because of special teams. I felt like the others were clearly better TEs, but Havner has been one of the bright spots on an otherwise sour special teams.

Yikes, that leaves Jordy Nelson as the return man? He is so god awful slow and tentative that's going to suck, maybe Shields will get some work there? Also they are working on an injury settlement for Blackmon which means they could bring him back but not til week 10... Interesting

I think Jordy is fast in straight line speed. I don't think he can go side to side worth a lick though.

That's the thing about Jordy, He's a good big fast player. But he has no wiggle or shiftiness. He'll crank it out regularly on Kick offs getting us decent position but with his size he'll be hard pressed to be a consistent threat to break the big one. He's not a good fit at PR either.

I wish the Vikings had been dumb enough to flat release that Raynaud kid... there was a return threat!

Nelson was a good kick returner until he got injured last year, he wasn't slow or tentative and didn't fumble. But most just seem to remember after the injury when he came back and had troubles and clearly didn't trust his knee or what ever his injury was.

Time for Ted to get busy.

Martin, Peprah, Lee and Bush make up shit depth in the secondary. None of them can return kicks either.

Got to think with guys like Shayne Graham and Rayner getting cut Crosby will be on a pretty short leash if he struggles early on. Can't say i'd mind having a guy like Graham hitting that last second dagger.

I dont think either of those two are better than Crosby and Rayner already lost once to Crosby.

Havner was more versatile, but Crabtree is a throwback player. His blocking is superb. Actually, Havner is more of an H-back and Crabtree is more of a pure line em up and hit em TE. I can't think of an example out of the top of my head. Maybe a poor mans Chewy.

yeah maybe not Rayner but Graham has been a proven kicker for almost a decade. The guy's accuracy is much better then Crosby's, but Crosby should have more on kickoffs and distance.

Has there been word that Masthay actually won the punting job? Not that I doubt it I'm just curious.
