Anybody see any odds yet?

Sportsbook.com has the Packers 2.5 point favorites over the Eagles.

The over/under is 47 points.

Right now I'd say the best bet is the Packers rather than betting the over.

Eagles QB Kolb has not thrown a TD in 3 preseason games, and has been sacked 5 times. He is 28 of 53 passing 52.8%. Kolb's passer rating is 63.7
His attempts/game is the same as Rodgers.

Rodgers leads the NFL this preseason in QB rating 141.2.
Rodgers is 41 of 53 for a completion % of 79.2.
Rodgers has not been sacked.

Both defenses are tied for 17th in yards in the preseason. The Packers have given up 3 points more/game. The Packers defense has been penalized 5 more times for 12 more yards.

I'd go for the over. In their last four "real" games last season, the Packers have scored an average of 40.5 points. And we're missing half our starting secondary from last year, so Philly should be able to score at least 7.

I agree with get_louder_at_lambeau, the Eagles will score points on the Pack. I hope they get the secondary figured out quick, but the Packers are going to win this one.

Also the Eagles have been known as a 4-3 blitzing team for a long time now, and it has been said by many of the talking heads that the stats say when blitzed Rodgers has done the best compared to when all other QBs are blitzed.

And when the Eagles LBers don't blitz.... they have clearly become very confused in the past including clearly looking over at their sidelines and most likely thinking "what the heck is gonna on over there" ... the Eagles like blitzing it's what they know best and plan on.

Then again they most likely will be extra prepared as this is the opener and had a LONG time to prepare for it and I'm sure they know the blitzing stat for Rodgers.

Also I really like their rookie Safety FS Allen. I was think Bulaga would of been taken in the first and they should of traded down and grabbed Allen and Burnett and then they're have good depth and picked up some extra picks. But Bulaga, Neal and Burnett are good dang good as well.

Kolb still hasn't thrown a TD pass this year. He did not play the 4th preseason game so his stats are unchanged from above.

Packers are 3 point favorites on the road and the over/under is 47.5 points.

Quiet confidence is the way to go early in the season. Let's try to remember that pre-season is just that.

You only have to look at the Colts' pre-season record( 4-23), the last few years. Yet they have won 12+ regular season games in the same time period.

Teams that are trying to establish some sort of winning feeling(ala The Browns) want to win the pre-season match=ups, other teams who have had success in the past may be using pre-season to work on certain packages or are trying to evauate young talent against The Packers.

I'm pretty sure that The eagles would have wanted to see a little better performance from Kolb, but also pretty suer he will look better against The Packers.l

I am going into theis first week with quiet confidence that The Packers will either shut down The eagles, or if they have to will let AR loose and The pack will outscore them.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!
