Either side building any burden of proof from the preseason is nonsense.. fortunately we get to play them twice and it will be answered upon the field.

We have serious questions on our defense.. they have some there as well as on offense.. and don't kid yourself.. we have questions on offense as well.. two that pop are the running game and will our tackles be able to handle speed on turf this season thus allowing our offense to function.

All this chest puffing on both sides 3 games into the preseason is nonsense.. at least in my opinion.

For the life of me, though, I cannot figure out why he is advertising the problems with his ankle. If he's hoping that talking up his vulnerability will prompt NFL officials to go easy on him, that might work. But I doubt it will provoke defensive coordinators to take pity on him and dial back the pressure (and if it does, shame on them and they need to be fired). Other than a few concessions from officials, I don't see what he has to gain from this tactic.

If Favre goes down to injury, the Vikings are hosed.
If Rodgers goes down to injury, the Packers are hosed.

This division will come down to which team has the best OL.

To the extent that preseason matters, so far it looks like that is GB.

Preseason doesn't mean shit. I'd take the Vikes offensive line any day regardless of how the Packers OL has looked.

Brett's age is a big negative in most categories but its a plus in experience. Whatever you think of the guy, he's seen everything in terms of defenses and reads it. I remember last year after the 2nd GB game, Woodson they blitzed a lot and he read it each time or got rid of the ball.

I think people overstate how well the Saints defense played that game. I looked it up, the Vikings had 31 first downs to the Saints 15. 475 total yards of offense. 310 yards passing and TOP advantage of 10 minutes. They fumbled the ball FIVE times. And all of that was on the road.

I still think the best way to beat Favre (and its one of few ways) is to get the lead and make him play from behind. He'll make stupid decisions to try to get the team back into it and then you take the INTs.

I really don't understand this whole Saints thing because why isn't every time in the NFL trying to do that to every QB. Whether your 40 or your 25, its going to hurt and I don't think they are going to let that stuff that went down the Saints go in the regular season. If someone can explain this theory to me, I'd be thankful. May be I am missing something?

EVEN with all of those late hits and everything, they were still a 12th man in the huddle penalty from possibily WINNING the game. Favre led the Vikings to the 35 yard line on that last drive AFTER this "blueprint to beat Favre".

Get Brett to play from behind. Why? Because he doesn't have confidence in his team to pull it out no matter what he says. Actions speak louder than words. He's alluded to this theory several times. Most notably during his retirement speech, the first one that is, by saying living up to Brett Favre is just too hard. He also questioned whether he wanted the ball in the final two minutes. Why? Because he didn't feel he could shoulder the team to victory as he feels he has to.

Even at 40, 41, if Brett relies on his TEAM to pull HIM through, he'll be dangerous. For some reason or other, late in the game, or post season games, he gets overwhelmed with a feeling that he needs to win it for the team, instead of providing an avenue for the team to win it for the ... team.

Against the Saints last year. Tuck it down, run/hobble it forward as much as you can, or out of bounds. Let Ryan kick the FG to win the game. That would have been the smart, veteran play. I'd trust the leg of Ryan anywhere within 55 yards in a dome.

I know what I'm trying to say, surely I failed in expressing it accurately though.

The Saints Blueprint is just cheap jargon for the Talking Heads.. the recipe for Brett has always been the same.

Pressure him and put him in decision making mode on the fly.. it forces him to gamble.. with mixed results. But it opens up the chance for him to make the critical mistake.. like he has made many times in his career.. not as many as the risks he succeeded in.. but the odds go up in your favor if you pressure him and force him into trying to "win it".

Guy is the ultimate competitor, one in which I have only seen him wave the flag twice without leaving it all on the field. Which drives him to try and win it at all costs.. including not banking on his teammates to win it for him.

Elway eventually caved to it, allowing him to capture 2 titles.. I don't think Brett's makeup will allow him to do the same.

WARNING: We are are WAY too overconfident about the Vikings demise.

What is the difference between the beginning of last season and this season? Did everyone expect Sidney Rice to blow up like that? No, so what makes you think this year someone like Harvin or Berrian or Shanicoe or Camarillo or whatever might not do the same.

As much as everyone hates Favre, he makes receivers play well (e.g., Rice and Shanicoe last year). Irregardless of Favre, they have AP! He's hard to stop if he's on.

They won the division two years ago with basically no WRs and no QB!

Quick, someone go nuts because I see the division objectively!
