"Thoughts?"

I think "run-on sentence" has a very clear grammatical definition, so there can be long or short versions.

"I have a hat, I'm going to go now." I think that's technically a run-on sentence, but not very long.

False.

It's the whole "My favorite team is from Minnesota and I'm just waiting for disaster to strike because the football Gods HATE Minnesota" thing.

Are you sure it wasn't his left? ;)

But yes, the term "run-on sentence" is commonly (mis)used to mean "very long sentence." All it means is the inappropriate joining of clauses without a conjunction. "I came, she left" is a run-on sentence, but I wouldn't say it's absurdly long.

They took it well because they have been bitten by Brett Favre syndrome. The complete acceptance and submission to all interceptions so long as thre are great passes/TDs the rest of the time.

Sometimes I wonder, who needs a hug more? A Lions fan or a Vikings fan?

With the Lions, you know you're going to suck year after year. With the Vikings, there's always a glimmer of hope that you'll win the SB, and there are even years where you're totally the dominant team and the SB is pretty much in the bag, but you just fall on your face.

So, maybe it is harder to be a Vikings fan. Then I remember Lions fans live in Detroit. Nope, harder to be a Lions fan. Not only does your team suck, but you'll be shot on the way home from looking for work.
