The thing I think you should also understand about Grant is that hes more of a bruising back and as the season gets older he gets more productive. Thats what I noticed from him last season.

Cleveland was blitzing in that game.

The line held, which makes Rodgers and our receiving corps simply unstoppable.

I have a jsonline article to back you up on the blitzing analysis and the Browns strategy against the Packers not exactly working against our first team offense.

While I am not at all concerned about our offense, I am terrified of our defense and the secondary in particular. I think the young corners, Shields and Underwood show promise as backups but we cannot afford them to be starters in case there are injuries to Woodson/Harris/Tramon. I have concerns about how effective we can be even with our starters healthy. Maybe we need to look at the Saints for guidance on how to optimize a weak secondary (take-aways). What do you guys think, do Harris and Woodson still have it?

Man feels like I havnt posted on this site in ages ... (only been about a week).

I havnt watched the game (yet) but have of course read everything here and watched the highlights at NFL.com

a few things came to mind as the discussion came up ...
you guys remember rodgers last year in preseason? I think he had some kind of extra ordinary QB rating of like 153 or 159 and the Oline didnt give up a sack for all 4 games ...

as far as the whole grant argument ... we all know that his job wont be taken unless we acquire some super rookie or he gets hurt. I didnt see the game but Im hoping we get to mix it up a bit this year with RBs.

It is kind of sad he fumbled on the first play and only had 1 fumble last year. Brings up memories of the play off game last year where we had a pick on one drive and a 'dropped/fumbled' pass on the next that gave the cards 2 scoring drives.

little worried about the loss of jolly since he did provide some penetration in our games last year. Glad its the preseason where we can work out some kinks before our real games.

From the sounds of it - underwood appears to be doing better (which would be nice) I thought he was crap last year; but if he would be 1/2 way decent that would be quite nice.

btw if I remember right the reason shields 'lost' his job as a WR and got put on corner is because he couldnt catch the ball; it it sounds like that is the same thing that is occuring here in his returns ... dont matter how fast the dude can run if hes bobbeling returns (small hands?).

btw for those new memebers - most of us here whom have been posting for awhile we are not just fans we are fanatics and can often name various plays or stats based on particular games or recent seasons ... and ya this is a internet forum and we also feel we reserved the right to over-analyze (excessively compliment or bitch) depending on our mood ;)

btw I Saw that full back run; reminded me of b. jacksons run last year that he went in for a TD (damn forgot which game) (was more of a cut back to the other side something that grant does Not do).
Who wasw the fb again kuhn? rememeber him last year where he would be doing most of the goal line drives at less then 4 yards to go ...

I also doubt well be keeping 3 fbs again thinking khun and johnson but his lack of catching is perterbing. east hall is a good STer.

I was quoting TwinkleGorilla. I don't make stuff up. Here's the quote:

* Grant: fuck you.
* Jackson: fuck you, stop running into your own men like Grant.

SIGH.

This board is in midseason form. Unfortunately we don't need no stinking preseason to get into shape for the name calling and finger pointing.

Quit the dramatics, jeepers folks. I'll worry about the state of the board, not you. I suppose reading this post here  wouldn't hurt either. I think it still applies. Although I have a grammatical error in it, lol. Well, probably more than one.

You all just worry about talking Packers amongst one another.

oh, dude...totally true. 'cuz anybody criticizing Grant is only basing their criticism off this single preseason game. for totes! oh wait...i already said that! i guess i got confused since you seemed to ignore it. heck, i'll give you my 2 cents again: i think the people who are overreacting are the people who are butthurt because i made a lil' swear at our running backs who i personally don't care for.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I think we should all quit with the dramatics and stop being so petty. I mean, shit, we finally have PACKERS FOOTBALL again, quit the bitching.

Sure, Grant and Jackson aren't Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas, so what? We don't have better options on the roster right now, or at least it doesn't appear to be that way.

Maybe Starks will heal up sometime around week 7 and we'll have a better option. Right now, we don't. We have Grant and Jackson and another guy.

I was thinking about this 2 days ago.

Last time there was packers football I was discussing marriage with a gf of mine; was working a non rewarding job in a decent area of london.

during the off season - we broke up, I took a job in a crap hole area of london for a job that was craptastically much worse and didnt think I could find a decent chick here again.

Now we have packers football again; I have a new gf whom is much 'better' then my old one, Im out of work yet at peace with what will develope in my future - so ya Zero I agree.

how about those packers ...

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
