Tell that to Cory Stringer's widow.

Obviously that was a rare and extreme case, but California's point was not that we should feel sorry for these guys but that the heat can limit what the players can do out there. Also, I think it is more enjoyable to watch football when it is played in cool weather, as it was meant to be played.

If I remember the story correctly, Stringer was grossly dehydrated at the time he died. There's an element of personal responsibility here. He has an obligation to hydrate himself and to self-report if he is in a compromised state of health. He chose not to do that.
