but get louder now wants to fling accusations upon me in other threads which aren't correct.. so apparently there is an emotional attachment to this player here.. and I am searching for why.

"pack93z" wrote:

Did I do that? I'm honestly not sure, maybe I did, but I don't remember flinging any accusations at you.

As far as any emotional attachment, I just have the standard "I wish the best for this Packer player" kind of attachment that I have for just about all of them.

I don't get why some Packer fans get so emotionally invested in HATING Packer players. Not sure if you qualify personally or not, but a lot of Packer forums are filled with people who's favorite sport is attacking Harrell, Bush, Colledge, Bigby, Crosby, Martin, Jackson, etc. I find it annoying. I think it's really fucking stupid.

I coach JV football and I have my own beliefs on how to identify the work horses from the slackers. Not all the coaches agree and discussions do occur where certain coaches have to backup their positions with their own evidence. Personally I like to ask a lot of questions of players. Just because someone looks like they aren't watching or mentally participating, I can't rush to judgement. I liken that to pop-quizzes in class. You learn real fast which kids are really interested and engaged. I may ask them a question or may throw them into a situation and have them show me.

Now being that I'm not privey to all happenings on the practice field at all times I have to trust the people that are directly involved with working with the kids. In the end though, I don't think there is a fool proof litmus test. And then on top of everything you have the pressure of the parents, which I liken to the beat writers. They have an invested interest in the team and are willing to share their viewpoints quite readily. In the end gamedays prove everything.

Well good then.. I don't hate Harrell.. I just think a player, regardless the name upon the jersey.. whom has been extended multiple chances to make an impact not out working every other player in camp because he wants it more than any other player in camp. The player in the situation.. not the player himself.

Nothing more.. nothing less.

Clear.. great.

So you can keep your really fucking stupid in this case.. unless there is something else.

Agreed.. for the most part.. but kids on a High School field are in a much different place than an NFL player.

But it is an excellent question posed by Wade that I will expand my thoughts on.

Well, like I said, I don't know if you qualify as one of the fans who hates on Packer players constantly or not. Really don't know. The "really fucking stupid" thing was in explanation of my defense of Packer players who fall into the whipping boy position on these forums, and was not aimed at you or anyone specific. Just explaining where I'm coming from when I take the time to counter what I see as unfairly negative opinions. Same reason I have a Jarrett Bush avatar.

Honestly, I don't think I even read the majority of pages of this topic. This is just one of four forums I read and post at. I can see how you would think I was coming at you specifically, but that's not the case. Cheers.

Nope, I didn't, and I appreciate it. Maybe I'm coming across wrong, but again, I have noting against you, and I think you may have me confused with someone else if you are having accusations flung at you. Don't think I did that. Go Pack!

There is a reason Harrell feels that people think he is lazy..

http://gnb.scout.com/2/971263.html

Harrell knows what you think of him. You think hes lazy. You think hes soft. You think hes a bust.

I am getting tired of (hearing it) but its one of those things thats expected, he said at his locker on Wednesday. It probably wont ever go away, even if I go out and have a good season.

"pack93z" wrote:

So wouldn't you as a player be challenged by that, fired up now deemed healthy and erase that notion?

I know I would.. and that is where my judgment is derived.

But I wave the white flag.. the majority says I am wrong.. great.. we shall see how it plays out.

I mean if the guys back is screwed up, what can you really do? He's 300 pounds. He's going to be slammed around and put on his ass and his back 500 times per year playing and practicing. If the back isnt fixed(which it seems it's not completely) the injury or pain will reoccur and well, it is what it is. Back injuries are painful when all you have to do is sit in a chair all day in front of a computer at work. I couldn't imagin having to play defensive tackle after 2 back surgeries. It is what it is. We drafted him and knew about the injury I believe, or maybe it was another injury. May as well move on if he cant make the grade week one of this season. Give the roster spot to someone who can contribute and wish Mr. Harrell the best of luck in the future.

Let's let Harrell play a preseason before we go all emo.

haha emo ...

I find it interesting Harrell is suddenly getting all this negative spotlight from the media after the scrimmage which lots of people reported good things about him. Even a couple people said they thought Harrell got the best push all of the DL men.
