You'd think that Harrell came into camp looking like Gilbert Brown or Grady Jackson with how quick people are to call him a lazy fat ass.

Give me one shade of evidence to the contrary during his time here? Where has he earned that label of being the hardest working dude on the team?

Big difference in Brown, Grady and Harrell.. two of them gamed up on Sundays.. Harrell has yet to prove it.. healthy or not.

This.

My beef with Harrell is, this is his last chance to prove himself, and he's out there lolly gagging around like he doesnt give a shit. Like you said, he hasn't earned the right to take it easy during camp. He needs to be working his ass off to prove he deserves a roster spot. Plus, he needs to get into football shape.

Everyone here seems to think he can just breeze through training camp, and will be ready to go for the regular season.

But whatever. Most people here don't care that he's lazy and not showing effort. Well it fucking pisses me off.

That is one awful generalization loaded with inaccuracies.

It's Justin Harrell. It is his last chance. Yes, most would expect him to be more "into it" to appeal to a few sideline reporters to avoid negative articles and comments being said about him. I don't know that he's sluffing off, I haven't SEEN the practices myself. Although I have seen many practices and MANY players do not give 100%. Its not worth getting upset about. Is it something that should be noted? I would think so.

I didn't see any say he can skate through the camp and he'll be ready to go. I have read that if he gives five good plays on Sunday, that would be a good thing. I really don't expect much from Justin anymore, not sure why anyone else does or is.

If he's lazy and not showing effort, no, I don't care because he's not the damn franchise, he's a first round pick from several years ago who has not done a damn thing worthy of getting upset over.

We have about six dozen more intriguing players on the roster to be concerned with instead of a 3rd? string DL.

What's next, we gonna start complaining about the punter not running around slapping guys backsides to motivate people?

The comments coaches have said about him have been good, err, better than what's normally being said. Either they condone the sluffing off, or the sluffing off is not as prominent as some are alleging it to be.

Either way, it's Justin Harrell, not exactly one of the key cogs in our team. We'll still win the Super Bowl with or without him busting his ass off in training camp.

Tomorrow night, if he's half assing it in the game, THEN there should be bitching... but not in training camp.

The saying practice like you play, doesn't fit with every player.

I don't know if you missed it, but I just posted quotes from Harrell's GM, HC, and DC all talking about Harrell having a good camp and working very hard- all very recent quotes, on the last page of this thread.

get-louder... since we are deadlocked on this issue and you seem to think I am anti Harrell (which is not true.. I am anti a player on his last chance not giving full effort, which btw someone (you) finally found quotes supporting Harrell) why is it so offending to be leery of a kid that has a track record of not being ready for camp, for being somewhat passive and hasn't proven much on the football field?

BTW.. I will repeat my comments before.. your rebuttal took 9 pages for someone to combat McGinn's comments with something other than slander against him.. well done and got a +1.

You worded that slanderously. Why? What has Justin done to you? He has a track record for not being ready for camp, that's not true. He's made it to camp, he just gets injured right away. So there, neener neener neener.

I am trying to keep this discussion out of that thread.. lol... and apparently my expectation for a player with little string left is different than the majority here.

I am not a guy to cut every player on the roster that struggles.. and I challenge anyone to find a thread where I label them with sucks or what not..

If he is slacking.. this kid that is running out of chances and has been extended more chances than most players get.. I don't see any reason to continue the relationship.

The coaches see it differently and I am fine with that.. let it play out and we move on.. but get louder now wants to fling accusations upon me in other threads which aren't correct.. so apparently there is an emotional attachment to this player here.. and I am searching for why.

Justin hasn't done a damn thing to me.. some seem to think this is a personal issue with Justin.. it isn't Justin..

It is a freaking player that has been extended more than enough chances to make an impact in this league showing that he isn't prepared for this camp.. when his career depends upon it.

I give two shit is his name Devin Kugan.. it is the principle of the manner.

But we now have opposing comments from the coaches themselves.. so it is a mute point. Think this was carried out to far.. great.. then post those comments on page 2 and this subject is done.. lol.

Like Zero said, Harrell's injuries have been the issue for most of his career. This is the first time his effort has been called into question. And it's only been called into question, not condemned. It was his body language in between reps that was concerning to McGinn and others, and I share their concern.

But the Packers haven't even played their first preseason game yet. We are on the verge of finally learning if we really have anything with him, so let's see what he can do. I'll be watching him on Saturday night.
