Harrell fits the category that we shouldn't have 9 pages, nearly 200 comments about because he's done nothing on the field to merit this depth of a discussion.

Kind of the point I'm getting here folks. It's Justin Harrell. It's not like Aaron Rodgers is slacking off in camp. It's a guy who hasn't made an impact, which I also stated a time or two.

I have heard good things about a Sam Shields fella, Quinn Porter ... yet the good things don't merit nine pages, but Justin Harrell ... does? lol its funny

LOL.. cut his ass then and move on before he gets hurt again.. lol..

My point is in broader terms.. but the sentiment that he should be babied along and given the benefit of the doubt is anti my way of thinking for a player that has to do it or be out of work is mind numbing for me.. more so than Justin "Freaking" Harrell..

It is sort of the same mentality with Crosby at this point.. or Smith a couple of seasons ago.. coddle vs hard line expectations..

There.. I am done.. it will die because I seem to be the one keeping the debate going.. lol.

But now on the 9 pages.. it is Packer discussion.. philosophical in a sense.. but somehow that shouldn't be a valid topic?

No one is bad mouthing the GM.. ripping the coach to shreds.. it is a discussion on one of the hot topics of this camp..

I know.. lets start another thread about the Viking QB that has his own section on this site.. an honor not a single Packers is bestowed. lol. 😉

You'd think that Harrell came into camp looking like Gilbert Brown or Grady Jackson with how quick people are to call him a lazy fat ass.

Give me one shade of evidence to the contrary during his time here? Where has he earned that label of being the hardest working dude on the team?

Not sure why you choose to be so emotionally invested in your negative opinion of a Packer player, but OK. Here's "one shade of evidence to the contrary." The latest mention of Harrell from the Packers General Manager's press conference just over a week ago-

(The perception I get from Justin Harrell is that he feels bad about not contributing these first few years. Do you get that feeling from him and how high do you allow your hopes to get?)
He is doing good. He has had some trouble with heat cramps the last couple of practices so were trying to get that squared away. He carries with him the first-round tag, which is good on draft day because you get drafted and everybody says Yay and you have a big party at your house. The expectations from the fans and people that he doesnt even know, Im sure he probably gets comments from time to time. I think we have to have a certain amount of empathy. If you are trying the best you can and its just not working or you kind of keep getting hurt or whatever it is, you havent done anything wrong. Its just the expectations are a lot higher. Now with that comes some good things like contracts and things like that, so there is good and bad, but its not just a one-way street.

(So do you think we will get to see what he is capable of?)
We hope so, we hope so. He has worked very hard this offseason. He has had a good camp so far and well see.

Here's another "shade of evidence to the contrary" for ya, from the Head Coach, also a little over a week ago-

Hows Justin Harrell doing?)
Justins had a very good camp so far. The quality of film Ive been pleased with. Visiting last night with Mike Trgovac, just going through the individual reps and the progress of our defensive line. Hes overcome some heat issues the last two practices, and hes putting together a good camp so far.

Maybe a "shade of evidence to the contrarary" from his Defensive Coordinator would be more to your liking? No problem. From a recent story at Packers.com-

Its been so far, so good for Harrell during the first week of training camp, though he did drop out of Monday afternoons practice with heat-related sickness. He confirmed Tuesday that he received some IV fluids but that his absence had nothing to do with his back.

I think hes been off to a good start, Capers said. I think he has the physical tools that he can play left end for us, and we need for him just to be able to stay out here and continue to take that step-by-step progress that we need to see out of him over a period of time.

They must all be covering up for how obviously lazy Harrell is. It's a conspiracy.

LOL.. Bitching just to bitch eh.. not..

Woodson has earned some practice time collateral via his play upon the field.. Justin has none. Thinking NFL players don't need a kick in the ass or a reminder every now and then.. think back to the first season Charles was here and not participating.. he got called out on it.

It is hardly picking on Harrell or bitching just to bitch.. it is a player that has admitted he owes the Packers due to his lack of performance... showing up to camp and per a number of different spectators is lacking effort. It is not a Woodson, a Favre, a player that has proven himself as an NFL player.. no it is a damn near washout acting like he gives two shits less if some would kill for the shot. Piss on that attitude.. it has not freaking place in training camp.. and I would be willing to wager most players feel the same damn way. Real players with freaking heart for the game.

If you are happy with that and deem it acceptable.. great.. I on the other hand am not.

McGinn..
Vandermuse
CheeseheadTV's Nagler..

But hey... they all can't be seeing the same damn thing.. lol. It is the conspiracy of 2010 to pick on Justin. ;)

I have said it a number of times... I personally expected a fired up Harrell that was ready to roll.. not one that by reports (yes not first hand information) isn't putting it forth for a player that needs it..

That speaks of a player of the caliber not wanted on a championship team.. nothing more.. nothing less. Picking on the fat kid my ass. ;)

I'm not really that fired up about this, but apparently you are. I don't think having Harrell on or off the team is going to decide the fate of the Green Bay Packers in 2010. But I think people rush to judgment more often than not. Cutting him right now is rushing to the judgment.

For the record, I'm not comparing Harrell to Charles Woodson, but Woodson won that fight with McCarthy. He definitely is not someone who is that intense in practice. You turn on the game, he's as intense as any player out there. McCarthy does let guys go easy sometimes. He's not Dick Vermeil when he was with the Eagles.

This thread is so ridiculous.

Who the hell cares about this? Why do you care?

Care what happens on Sundays. As I said, what happens in camp hardly translates to what happens during the season.

Wait till he messes up on gamedays and stop being morans.

McGinn past articles have also shaded Thompson as one of the worse GM ever and Favre the god of football...
