Or maybe you think we should draft WRs and QBs next year with our first few picks if they're the best players left?

If a WR or a QB are the best available at our pick then yes i do.

or maybe you think we should draft a Punter in the first round because that is an area of need?

Right now on the heirarchy of needs punter ain't way up there. In fact, I'm not sure punter ever qualifies as need. If your season is going to ride on your punter, you probably need a new GM.

agreed. but what im saying is. Sherman used that same draft for need policy and his record is clear. it doesnt work.

but we are about to start arguing minute details for no reason whatsoever. We both know that if its a choice between an A+ WR in the first round or an A+ Guard in the first round... that Ted (assuming he thinks both players will be great) will pick the Guard.

But if the Packers need a guard and the WR sitting at our pick is expected to be a better player.... then i think Ted should get the WR.

I always thought the problem with Sherman was he was a poor talent evaluator. He drafted for need, but he didn't draft the best players. Ferguson jumps out immediately. That and the conflict of being a coach/GM where he got too attached to his guys emotionally. With a good GM, Sherman could have focused solely on coaching, and he did have a 57-39 record here (playoffs are another matter).

In that draft scenario you mentioned, given that we have Driver and Jennings, Jones waiting in the wings and showing big play ability, Martin as a solid vet, and Nelson as the understudy I'd go with the guard every time especially if we're getting killed on the line like we are.

Well my avatar says it all lol but i think we need to go with a stellar rb if one is there one but i dont see any AP type back in college right now. I don't think o-line would be a good pick we need some vets there. Isn't Rodgers contract up after next year?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Here's the bad news, man: even if Aaron's contract is up (I'll admit that off-hand I don't know), if you seriously think they'll drop him to draft your boy Graham, you're in for a large dose of disappointment. He'll be extended, and he'll be around for a long, long time.

Lets Re-do this come January. We should take the best player available. TE, DT, DE, OLB, S, RB(In no order) should be the positions we look at.

Like so your saying we should throw the bank to a 1st year starter ? and also never say never. I didnt say he would draft him in the 1st round cuz Ted Thompson will trade away that pick lol But i know if i was Rodgers i would play out my contract and with no salary cap in 2010 i would go for the big bucks but then again that would go for any player with contacts close to up

Depends where the Pack draft and who is on the board. I would rank offensive line as the biggest need. After that, I think defensive line is also a bit of a need.

Beyond that though I think the team is solid at QB, WR, LB, and DB.

I'm a little hesitant about Ryan Grant though. If Chris Wells is there, I'd take him.

I would love to have Beanie Wells. And I TOTALLY brain farted, forgot about our O-line needs.
