Play GM for a minute.. looking forward what position would you have your scouts spend the most time on between now and April?

For me.. it is an easy one.. I would focus this next draft along the lines.. Oline first followed by Dline.

I'm half tempted to add K, P and QB to that list.

I voted corner.

1) I love corners, and I don't think you can have enough of 'em.

2) I don't want any more youth on the OL -- I want one or two guys who I KNOW can do the job on this level. We've got enough young depth. I'm not saying I want some 10-year vet we'll just have to replace again in a year or two, but I want someone who's shown they can get the job done.

3) Same applies to DL, provided that Jenkins comes back healthy next year and Jeremy Thomson keeps showing.

Beyond that, I have a hard time finding a spot where I think we truly lack young, quality depth, so I'd say Ted can go BPA like he loves to do.

LOL.. the assumption is that we don't sign Free Agents.. wait maybe that should be reality.

The Oline is filled with converted tackles to guards.. I voted a honest to goodness true guard with interior footwork and stance.. not converted tackles.

I picked O-line guard, but really I think it would be who the best player available on either the O-line or D-line. A player who can tackle on D would be nice. We have been pretty weak with tackling in open space on D this season.

I went for a DE because it's so hard to get a good one I felt our chances would be better for a good one with the first pick. Although I think OL,especially the interior, is a bigger priority it is usually easier to pick up good ones after the first round, with the exception of LT.

Actually I'm happy when we can upgrade any postion. How often haven't we seen a position of strength decimated by injury and/or defection.

I voted OT ... assuming that Colledge is going to take Cliffy's job sometime in the future, we should be preparing for Tauscher's decline as linemen take a while to develop.

You forgot LB...

I went overboard already.. assumptions 2 QB's this year and about 8 deep at LBer are enough.

Punter though... hmmm ... can you imagine the stir taking a punter in round one would cause.. Sherman would be vindicated.

Re: the bolded part above -- totally true, and I really think that Thompson's coming to a point in his career @ GB where he needs to prove that he actually can play the Free Agents game. Dude's a killer when it comes to the draft, but (JMO, here) we're stuffed to the gills with young talent and potential. Potential is all well and good, but I want to see him show he can court and land some proven NFL players.

I know, I'm crazy.
