Ok I am going to say the toughest game on the schedule will be the Lions on Dec 12th. Before you laugh let me explain.

First point is the Lions should be much improved and they will have a very tough d-line and possibly the rookie of the year in Best. They also have one of the best wrs in the game with Calvin Johnson.

The main point is the time of the year, They will have just gotten done playing most likely the division leading 49ers and their tough defense and looking foward to a very tough game at New England.

A close 2nd would be the Atlanta game just because of the schedule, just get done with an emotional game with the Vikes and Favre and having the 49ers next.

Ok now you can start laughing but I am trying to be serious

The Lions do look very much improved and we can't underestimate them, but really, their D-line is a little overhyped and still has a lot of question marks.

Suh's a rookie and has been looking like one in camp. He's been mediocre so far. Of course, that doesn't say a whole lot just yet, but D-linemen don't often have a great 1st year.

Vanden Bosch is Schwartz's personal favorite, but he looked awfully close to being done last year and has had only 2 good years in the pass rushing department. He'll improve their line, but not by an amazing amount.

Corey Williams was a scary pass rusher as a 3 technique tackle. We'll see if he can do that again.

I don't even know who's going to play LE right now. Avril? De Vries? Hunter?

Their secondary is still in shambles. Buchanon was their best CB... And they let him go. They replaced him with Chris Houston. That's not a good trade-off. Louis Delmas is the only bright spot.

Their LB core is pretty respectable. They got rid off the overrated Ernie Sims, Levy looks like he has a lot of potential at MLB and Peterson is still a pretty good player.

I'm not that scared of the Lions' defense this year.

Rock the main reason I say it will be a tough game is the time of year we are playing them. We will be on the road and just got done with a tough 49ers team and looking foward to the Pats.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I've actually been thinking the Lions could turn out to be the Packers' toughest opponent too, even if they beat them. Yes, the Packers have had the Lions' number the past few years, but a lot of games have been much closer than they should have been. I could see the Packers going into that game overconfident and turning it over a few times, particularly if the offensive line is shaky.

Toughest game is either New England or Atlanta. I think probably the Patriots get the edge.

Talk of overconfidence. I said it last year and they did lose to the Bengals, which was a game GB should of won IMO. I actually called that loss though because of the fact that they bought into the press clippings.

You know, there kind of doing it again this year, so they'll lose one they should win.

It's not the Lions though. Matthew Stafford is not going to make a jump like Peyton Manning did. He'll take baby steps.

I think GB will lose to Miami at Lambeau.

That's a brutal stretch of the schedule. That Lions game will be the 3rd away game in 4 games with a 4th away game at the pats as you mentioned right after. Seriously though NFL scheduling committe? 4 away games during a 5 game stretch, I smell conspiracy. Those five games I believe will define our season and yes, the Lions could very well be the toughest game, especially mentally.

I am not worried about the Vikings, they will have a brutal start and will be reeling by the time the get here.

The Patriots may be tough, though I don't give Brady the credit because I think the Patriots make him look better than he is. My reasoning is Cassell in NE had a 90 rating and in KC produced a 20 point lower rating. They did better with Cassell 2 years ago than with Brady last year. It was not Cassell.

Which regular season opponent will be our toughest this year (and why)?

Mason Crosby.

He will be in every single game. 16 times this year the Packers have to face Mason and his blaming the holder. He is the biggest opponent the Packers have this year.

The great news is.... The Packers are so solid, he will be responsible for the only (3) losses the Packers have this year.

At this point. He remains the biggest opponent the Packers have this season.

I don't see why everyone's so afraid of the Lions all of a sudden.

We had the Lions between San Fran and Baltimore last year. We had Baltimore - @ Chicago - @ Pittsburgh - Seattle - @ Arizone.

It's not like we lost to the Seahawks because they were in the middle of a tough stretch.

If you want an upset game, I'm thinking about winning 4 straigth and then throwing one away in Washington. I don't know if Miami would be an upset, as they're not that far behind us.
